Hailing from Tel Aviv, Adam Ten has become a trusted tastemaker on the underground house circuit. He is known for threading a wide array of subgenres with his psychedelic and culturally diverse influences. Based in Liverpool, Bontan has established himself as a cornerstone of the UK house scene, putting his name on some of the most cherished club tracks from the past decade.

The two forces are uniting on their new single for Insomniac Records. “Hey” is a deep, percussive-driven tribal workout, navigating through a rich tapestry of vivacious djembe and shaker patterns, layering in buzzing synth saw waves and whirring textures beneath a retro-contemporary hip-hop hook sung in a West African dialect.

Adam was touted by Pete Tong as ‘One To Watch’ in 2024, which led to his debut Essential Mix this year. He has maintained a busy schedule of high-profile shows, including EDC Mexico, Burning Man, Coachella, Circoloco Ibiza, Skyline Los Angeles, Fabric London, Pacha Ibiza, and Brooklyn Mirage.

Bontan was voted Radio 1’s ‘Future Star’ and named ‘Best Newcomer’ at the DJ Awards. He has upcoming sets at Space Miami, Shelter Amsterdam, The Warehouse Project Manchester, and Zamna Tulum, as well as an upcoming ‘Essential Mix’ airing on November 30th.

Bontan shares, “I feel that ‘Hey’ is a perfect blend of us, with a tribal groove. I met Adam in Miami when we played Space the same night. After hearing him live, I felt like a fusion of our sounds would make something special. We connected afterward, and after a few months of sending ideas back and forth, we got there.”

His big summer release of 2023, ‘Spring Girl,’ reached 1 million streams in less than a month, gaining 1st place overall on Beatport.

His label, ‘Maccabi House,’ stands for music that pushes the boundaries of house, adding a psychedelic and funky twist. Promoting and releasing top records from rising talents in the Tel-Aviv music scene, the label has grown exponentially in the last two years, reaching 1st place on Beatport within the IndieDance category. Adam is also the co-founder of ‘TERRA,’ which puts on some of the biggest open-air events in his home country.

ABOUT BONTAN:

Andrew Phillips, aka Bontan, is a DJ/ Producer who was born and raised in Liverpool, UK and has become one of the biggest-selling artists on Beatport. He was voted Radio 1 Future Star, received a ‘Best Newcomer’ trophy at the DJ Awards, achieved multiple Beatport #1s, and has an Essential Mix and Coachella play under his belt, too.

After several early releases, a coming together with Josh Butler resulted in ‘Call You Back’, which came out on Origins Records. It would climb the Beatport charts and provide Bontan with his second overall #1 record- a stand-out release for both artists. He swiftly followed up with his debut on Hot Creations, with his ‘First Time EP’ being premiered by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and supported by all heavyweight dance music publications. Coachella came knocking and soon after a release on one of the hottest labels around, NO ART, thrust the artist onto a trajectory that knows no bounds. 2023 saw a Bontan resurgence and his new, organic drum-driven take on house music spurred on well-deserved praise from peers and fans alike, attracting a demand for fresh music and his selections on the dance floor.

The last twelve months have included sold-out North American tours, a wealth of ROW plays, DJ Snake and HoneyLuv remixes, and releases on key underground labels, including Black Book, Higher Ground, and Good Company Records.
