Luisa Beccaria SS27 “Herbarium” (2)

With its Spring/Summer 2027 Collection, Herbarium, Luisa Beccaria embarks on a journey into its own universe, bringing the Maison’s iconic botanical imagery to the runway, enriched by a new, playful, and sensual vision.

Like the pages of an ancient herbarium preserving fragments of seasons long past, the collection gathers the natural elements that inhabit Luisa Beccaria’s imagination: flowers, leaves, pomegranates, and vegetation settle onto fabrics, transforming into prints, embroideries, and appliqués, ranging from the softest hues to the most vibrant colors, evoking the memory of nature from the very moment of its first awakening.

Inspiration from the botanical and aquatic worlds runs throughout the collection, intertwining different silhouettes, lengths, and proportions: bustier dresses paired with lightweight capes, pencil skirts and sheer blouses, trapeze mini dresses, and fluid and more structured dresses. Hand-knitted openwork mohair knitwear, as light as a cloud, is enriched with dégradé shades that echo flower petals.

The color palette comes to life in the hues of water and sky, of dawn, sunlight, and sunset.

A wardrobe designed to accompany women through the different moments of life and the day, from the most important celebrations to countryside breakfasts and evenings by the sea.

Shimmering, fluid, and weightless fabrics, transparent as water, such as organza, fil coupé, lace, and embroidered tulle, alternate with more substantial, rustling materials: brocade, poplin, and printed cottons.

Chiffon inserts evoke the lightness of petals; embroidered flowers emerge from the surfaces; printed and appliquéd sequins create a three-dimensional effect that seems ready to unfold.

Ruches and ruffles bloom at necklines, on shirt cuffs and along trouser hems, creating corolla-like shapes that follow the movement of the body.

Delicate stripes run through the floral narrative with a more graphic rhythm, balancing rigor and romanticism.

The footwear, a collaboration between Luisa Beccaria and Kathryn Lipman for Sandro Vicari, a historic Italian artisanal excellence, enhances the silhouettes with unexpected colors and materials, accompanying the collection’s steps.

Herbarium comes to life in the spaces of Milan’s Acquario Civico, immersed in the greenery of its garden and the forms of its Liberty-style architecture, where the building’s decorative elements become a natural extension of the collection. The fluidity of the garments dialogues with the surrounding environment, blending moda and nature.

The dresses become landscapes to inhabit, fragments of a garden to carry with you. The collection is a living book of nature, according to Luisa Beccaria: a botanical, voluptuous world that, season after season, continues to bloom. Season after season, it continues to bloom.
