Runway 7 returns to Sony Hall for its 11th season – 138 designers, six days, one continent-sized statement, and the first-ever Runway 7 Fashion Awards at the end of it all

Runway 7 Season 11 Takes Over NYFW 2026 at Sony Hall

NEW YORK, – There is a particular electricity to the first week of September in New York: the light goes amber, the sidewalks harden with purpose, and every runway in the city starts to hum. At Sony Hall, on West 46th Street, the hum will be louder than most. Runway 7 – which bills itself, accurately, as the fashion industry’s most diverse runway production platform – returns to New York Fashion Week for its 11th season, running a six-day program from September 8 through 13, 2026, at Sony Hall, 235 West 46th Street.

The edition assembles 138 designers showing Spring/Summer 2027 collections that span ready-to-wear, eveningwear, streetwear, swim, couture, bridal, accessories and more – with a slate of philanthropic, celebrity and brand-driven showcases running alongside. It is a lot of fashion, even by New York standards. That is rather the point.

A Season in Numbers

Runway 7 has built its reputation as an expansive lifestyle marketplace – fashion, art, design and music under one very busy roof – platforming more than 100 designers from over 16 countries each season with must-see shows, performances and installations. This year, the platform itself makes history: more than 27 participating brands from Latin America, hailing from Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Costa Rica – a milestone for the region at New York Fashion Week.

“Season 11 is our most ambitious edition yet – 138 designers across six days, united by a common thread of craftsmanship, culture and purpose,” said Diane Vara, Director of Public Relations, Runway 7. “From our opening night celebration of animal welfare to the causes and communities represented throughout the week, this season reflects what New York Fashion Week does best: bring the industry together around ideas bigger than the runway itself.”

Tuesday: The Dogs Own the Opening Bow

The season opens Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m., with the fourth annual CatWalk FurBaby, presented by Elysian Magazine under the theme “Women Inspiring Women.” The evening unites high fashion and philanthropy in support of animal welfare – with fashion historian Fern Mallis attending as the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Honoree and journalist and television producer Charlii Sebunya serving as Master of Ceremonies. VIP and special guests include Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Nicole Miller and Marc Bouwer. The featured designers: Victor de Souza, Anne Fontaine, Marc Bouwer Studio, L’Agence x Cate Brown, D’Marsh Couture, Hot Girl Quilting, Mazarura, Bless by Bless, Halyna Shunevych, Any Old Iron and Magpies & Peacocks. Consider it the warm-up act with the most sentimental value in New York fashion.

The show hits close to home for Runway 7’s Director Christina Kovacs, whose own experience overcoming serious illness has shaped her commitment to elevating the stories of others facing life-altering diagnoses.

“Project Lab Coat has always been about using the runway as a platform for something much bigger than fashion. This season, in partnership with the Prevent Cancer Foundation, each lab coat will tell a different story, representing different types of cancer and the lives they impact. Together, they allow us to bring those stories to the runway in a way that is both deeply personal and incredibly visible.”

“Having lived through serious illness myself, I understand how profoundly a diagnosis can change the course of someone’s life. I’m especially honored to have a cancer survivor joining us on the runway through the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance, bringing lived experience to the stories we’re telling. My hope is that when people see these coats come down the runway, they see more than fashion. They see the people, the stories, and the resilience behind each one.”

– Christina Kovacs, Director, Runway 7

Also at 7 p.m., CHICK New York returns for a second appearance alongside Randhawa Brands, presenting a 30-look eveningwear collection blending South Asian heritage with contemporary womenswear, plus Jesse Lee Designs. The evening closes at 9 p.m. with Tutel‘s lingerie-focused presentation; Delphi Rive, the luxury lingerie label drawing on mythology and mid-century European cinema; Ren Haixi‘s zero-waste couture; and Creators Inc., presenting a crossover designed to pull digital audiences beyond the traditional fashion establishment.
