Every summer, Miami Beach does something it’s uniquely good at: it turns itself into a runway. From May 28 to 31, PARAISO Miami Swim Week returns for its 22nd edition, and if the lineup is any indication, this year might be its most ambitious yet.

The heart of it all is the same as it’s always been — a sprawling tent across Collins Park, a few steps from the ocean, where the week takes on a life of its own. Runway shows, brand activations, industry meetups, and the kind of spontaneous collisions between fashion and culture that you can’t really plan for. It’s the sort of environment where a buyer from a major retailer might find herself standing next to an emerging designer from São Paulo, both watching the same show, both seeing something they didn’t expect. That’s always been PARAISO’s particular magic.

This season’s confirmed designer lineup spans established and emerging brands: MONDAY, FAE, Oséree, Melissa Odabash, SHAN, Kulani Kinis x SOJOS Eyewear, LainSnow, Oceanus, Luli Fama, Oh Polly, VOGUE Mexico, and Spotlight Collective, among others. Collections on show will span Spring, Resort, and Cruise 2027 — giving buyers and press an early read on what the next year in swimwear actually looks like.

The New Delano, Reimagined

Along with the support of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, this season PARAISO Miami Swim Week’s official partners include Delano Miami Beach, Kevin Murphy, NY Makeup Academy, Google Fiber, MINI USA, LaCroix Water, Maker’s Mark, SOJOS Eyewear, Australian Gold, On The Rocks, Hampton Water, FUNKSHION, The Plymouth South Beach, and Tony’s Chocolonely, and Rumor, the official RSVP and invitation platform powering guest experience and event access throughout the week, among others.

One of the week’s most anticipated backdrops is the newly reimagined Delano Miami Beach, returning as a premier venue for exclusive programming. The property — long a magnet for the fashion crowd — will host an Ellen Von Unwerth photography exhibit alongside a Von Faith swim capsule presentation, a Sinesia Karol industry dinner and fashion show, and a series of private events. Mimi Kakushi and Gigi Rigolatto round out the Delano’s programming, keeping the energy running well past sundown.

RISE: A New Stage for Emerging Talent

Perhaps the most significant addition to this year’s program is RISE, a new production concept held at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel. The concept is simple and genuinely striking: a runway built directly over the hotel’s historic pool, set within an Art Deco property that somehow feels both nostalgic and completely of the moment. The evening will feature immersive DJ sets and a lineup of emerging brands — Lascana, SIGAL, LA.AVANA, Salty Mermaid, Belle D’Amour, Vampire Surf Club, Dianna Yacht Club, Huneys, Aura Maris, Atelier Palacios, Nohre, AvidLove, and Planet Fashion — with haircare by Moncho Moreno and makeup by Ere Perez.

It’s the kind of platform that didn’t exist before, and its arrival says something about where PARAISO is headed. The big names still matter, but so does what’s coming next.

SIHOF Returns

Also back for a second year is SIHOF: Swimwear Icons Hall of Fame, held at 1111 Lincoln Road. Last year’s inaugural edition quickly established it as one of the week’s defining nights — a red-carpet celebration for the designers and industry figures who’ve actually shaped the category, not just participated in it. This year, the event is co-chaired by Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman, the co-founders of MONDAY Swimwear, whose trajectory from bloggers to brand founders to genuine industry forces is exactly the kind of story SIHOF was built to honor.

Beyond the Tent

The auxiliary programming this year is dense, and deliberately so. Peixoto and Sinesia Karol host private industry events. Allegra Paris and Carve Designs bring a fitness class into the mix. Aqualillies perform a water ballet for Montce at the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach. White Fox stages its own runway show and event. Rielli runs a community pop-up at Plymouth Hotel’s Seasons Café from May 26 through 29. And on Saturday, May 30, Agua Bendita launches its ‘Heatwave Truck’ in collaboration with the Nader Sisters — complimentary bikinis, curated surprises, and the kind of street-level energy that tends to be more memorable than anything on a runway.

The week closes with two very different kinds of parties. First, Heatwave: The Sauna Rave™ — a collaboration between DAYBREAKER and Natasha Tonic‘s Sauna Collection, staged inside The Standard Spa’s sauna. Then, the official closing party, hosted by Von Dutch at Mary Lou’s, where the industry exhales, celebrates, and inevitably starts talking about next year.

Miami as a Market

PARAISO has always understood something that other fashion weeks sometimes miss: location isn’t just logistics. Miami Beach, with its direct ties to Latin America, Europe, and Australia, is genuinely one of the best places on earth to launch a swimwear brand or expand one into new territory. The event draws buyers, press, and industry figures from more than 60 countries, and its partnerships with SAND — the leading tradeshow in the Middle East — and Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) reflect a real effort to connect the swim market across continents, not just celebrate it in one place.

This year, MINI USA joins as a partner, fielding a branded fleet of vehicles wrapped in custom prints from Oséree, Oceanus, and Kulani Kinis. It’s a small detail that says a lot: PARAISO has gotten good at turning the whole of Miami Beach into its venue.

“PARAISO Miami Swim Week sets the tone for the upcoming buy year,” says Ivy Turner, Senior Buyer at Anthropologie. “I love to see what trends are emerging as new and which current trends become next season’s must-haves. With the speed of fashion, this event is also influencing chase buys to round out key needs for High Summer.”

Twenty-two years in, that’s still the point. Not just a week of shows, but a week that actually moves the industry forward — one collection, one conversation, one unexpected moment at a time.
