On February 11, 2024, New York Fashion Week was treated to Gita Omri‘s newest designs for Fall/Winter 2024. This collection, titled “…Unclassified,” draws from Omri’s own life as an Israeli American, reflecting on her time in the Israeli Air Force and recent events in the Middle East. “This collection comes from my heart, thinking back on my military days during these tough times,” Omri shared.

From Military to Fashion
Omri’s collection brings military elements into fashion, mixing the strong, functional features of uniforms with the lively spirit of Israeli culture. The show kicked off with modern takes on military gear, then smoothly transitioned into sporty yet chic outfits, featuring everything from silk dresses to layered coats, all made from diverse materials like scuba knits and embroidered laces.
Diverse and Inclusive Casting
Gita Omri is known for embracing diversity, and this collection was no exception. She featured models from various backgrounds, ages, and sizes, celebrating inclusivity on the runway. The audience was particularly captivated by a jumpsuit and a maxi gown adorned with numerous pockets, made from scuba knit in peach and khaki tones, inspired by a painting Omri made of Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall.
