LIE

LIE (라이) is a Seoul-based womenswear label whose name stands for “Life Is Expression,” founded by creative director and CEO Lee Chung-chung, son of veteran designer Lie Sang-bong. After studying Art & Design at London’s Central Saint Martins, Lee Chung-chung built LIE to empower women to express their unique personalities through fashion, blending technology with couture. The brand has shown at Seoul Fashion Week and internationally through Concept Korea at New York Fashion Week, where Lee presented a politically engaged collection titled “Global Warming; It’s not justICE” (2018) and notably put 69-year-old Maye Musk on the runway.

In 2025, LIE’s S/S collection featured LG Display’s stretchable panels in garment design, closing Seoul Fashion Week with a tech-infused finale. In 2022 the label was selected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to show at London Fashion Week alongside BMUET(TE), part of a program supporting Seoul-grown designers on international stages. The designer has stated ambitions to build LIE into a globally recognized label alongside his father’s house, envisioning the two brands as the “Prada and Miu Miu” of Korean fashion. LIE returns to DDP Art Hall 1 with the Wednesday midday runway slot.
