Miami Design District Kicks Off Art Week 2023 With Opening Reception For The Craig Robins Collection “A Train Of Thoughts” 

Last night, Miami Design District commenced Miami Art Week with the reveal of A Train of Thoughts,” a new exhibition of works from the Craig Robins Collection. Art and design world luminaries, international tastemakers, and notable guests joined Craig Robins, CEO of Dacra and Chairman and co-founder of Design Miami/ at the Buick Building in the heart of the Miami Design District to celebrate. A prelude to Miami’s busiest season, the opening reception offered guests an intimate glimpse into the masterpieces curated from the portfolios of some of the world’s most esteemed artists, displayed across two floors of the building. Notable guests included Gaetano Pesce, Gigi and Ronnie Vogel, Isabela Grutman, Javier Mora, Jeffrey Deitch, Marlon Robins, Nikolai Haas, Anna Williams, Alex Schapiro, Steven Gretenstein, JR, Karen Grimson, Connie Butler, Lara Bohinc, Mario Ayala, Matthew Chevallard, and Paola Alberdi.

Jr Unveils The Chronicles Of Miami Mural In Miami Design District With A Special Performance By Anitta 

Lights, music, and creativity collided on the night of Monday, December 4th in the heart of the Miami Design District, as world-renowned French artist JR celebrated the unveiling of his latest masterpiece, The Chronicles of Miami. The evening was nothing short of a visual and auditory feast, captivating attendees from 7 PM to 10 PM in the neighborhood’s Jungle Plaza. The Miami Design District transformed into a pulsating haven of artistic brilliance. JR’s mural, a breathtaking ode to Miami’s spirit, served as the epicenter of the celebration. Attendees enjoyed a jaw-dropping live DJ set by internationally acclaimed Brazilian singer, songwriter, and dancer, Anitta. The multi-talented chart-topping sensation electrified the audience with her magnetic stage presence,  elevating the evening to unprecedented heights and leaving the crowd in awe. As the event was free and open to the public, the Miami Design District became a communal space where art lovers, enthusiasts, and curious minds came together to revel in the magic of creativity. Notable guests included Cedric Gervais, Dave, Isabela Grutman, and Peggy Gou.

Andrés Reisinger’s “Take Over Miami” Reveals

Renowned digital artist and designer Andrés Reisinger unveiled his first-ever physical ‘take over’ installation, “Take Over Miami,” in the Miami Design District. Infusing the city with a vibrant pink-hued creative energy, Reisinger seamlessly transcends the boundaries between the digital and physical realms. The creative talent reinterprets the architecture of major capitals around the globe with pink drapes, integrating hyperrealistic elements into existing buildings. For the first time, in ‘Take Over Miami’ Reisinger took a step forward and brought to physical life the digital series, inviting art enthusiasts to join the transformation of a physical space into a surreal dreamscape of boundless creativity. “Take Over Miami” will be on view through December 10

Gaetano Pesce’s “Again In Miami With Multidisciplinary Works” Opening

Gaetano Pesce’s ‘Again in Miami With Multidisciplinary Works’  exhibition debuted to the public on Monday, December 4th. The collection is a time machine blending Pesce’s past and present intuitions and ideas, which also spotlights his brand-new works – the majority never shown before. The exhibit is an ensemble of 28 works where the legendary designer’s kaleidoscope of unpredictability, sensuality, and irony is displayed in full force and more gleaming than ever. Among them, Oman Chair and Oman Cabinet are sharp and translucent oversized pieces of furniture thought of for an upcoming show; Il Pugno (Si e’ dischiuso), Il Guanto e O’ Sole Mio’ are works originally conceived in the ’70s and crafted again in 2023, where the designer tests the breadth and the durability of his design using modern techniques; the Affections Chairs explore not only gender but also intergenerational relationships, and are completely made by hand, in painted resin; and, additionally, the gilded Up 5 + 6 “Compasso D’Oro” Limited Edition produced by B&B, is part of an exclusive collection of 500 pieces paying homage to the Italian famous Compasso d’Oro award -one of the most authoritative in the design world- won last year by Pesce’s iconic anthropomorphic chair.
