Gap announces a bold fusion of sound and silhouette with Puerto Rican trailblazer Jovem Miko for its Spring 2026 campaign. The GRAMMY®-nominated artist reimagines her breakout hit “WASSUP” into a full-length music video that doubles as a celebration of GapSweats, transforming everyday fleece into a statement of effortless confidence and cultural rhythm.

Young Miko x Gap Spring 2026 Sweats Like This Campaign

Sweats like this captures the pulse of Latin music’s global ascent, where movement and melody collide to redefine casual dressing. Young Miko, born in Añasco, Puerto Rico, channels the island’s indelible influence on her voice, style, and worldview. “Puerto Rico influences everything I do – the way I talk, express myself, dress, live, and see the world,” she declares. “It’s my home and the culture that shaped who I am today.”

The campaign arrives as a visual extension of her music. Directed by Bethany Vargas and shot by Olivia Malone, the piece features choreography by Zoi Tatopoulos that spotlights a dedicated dance break performed by 26 predominantly Latin dancers. Styling por Caroline Newell, in collaboration with fashion and image consultant Alastair McKimm, delivers a monochromatic palette that lets each silhouette breathe with individuality.

Young Miko appears in Heavyweight e Extra Heavyweight GapSweats, including the signature arch logo hoodie and a custom cropped iteration. The ensemble of dancers moves through an array of fleece pieces – wide-leg joggers, shorts, and varied proportions – demonstrating the collection’s versatility and its role as a canvas for personal expression.

Mark Breitbard, President and CEO of the Gap brand, positions the partnership within a legacy of cultural alignment. “Young Miko represents more than a moment; she speaks to a generation and is shaping what comes next,” he states. “As a true creative collaborator on this campaign, she helped us create a visual extension of her music while positioning GapSweats as a canvas for creativity and self-expression  –  this is fashion as entertainment.”

Fabiola Torres, Chief Marketing Officer, emphasizes the moment’s resonance. “Sweats like this arrive at a defining moment for Latin music – a genre that has long shaped global culture and how people dress, dance, and express themselves across generations,” she notes. “Music creates unity – it transcends language, sparks joy and brings people together. That shared energy is at the heart of this campaign.”

The video premiered March 10, 2026, and rolls out across Gap’s global channels: digital platforms, social media, email, in-store activations, out-of-home billboards in LATAM markets, New York’s Times Square, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, alongside YouTube, Vevo, gap.com, and creator collaborations.

Young Miko’s ascent underscores the campaign’s cultural precision. Her track “WASSUP” has exceeded 137 million streams on Spotify, contributing to more than 20 million monthly listeners e mais 21 million social followers. Collaborations with Bad Bunny, KAROL G, BIA, Central Cee, Feid, KATSEYE, Marshmello, Tainy, and BZRP have cemented her as a bridge between nostalgic 2000s rap-hip-hop roots and contemporary reggaeton flair, delivered through sharp Spanglish lyricism.

In an era when sweatpants have become the uniform of creative freedom, this collaboration proves GapSweats move as fluidly in the studio as on the street. The campaign reminds us that true estilo rarely announces itself – it simply grooves. Follow the movement at @gap e @itsyoungmiko.
