Polish your steins and dry-clean your dirndls because Readington Brewery’s third annual Oktoberfest is here! We’re transforming Readington into a Bavarian paradise with a weekend full of traditional German brews, mouthwatering cuisine, live music, and exciting activities that everyone will enjoy. Mark your calendars because the Oktoberfest celebration kicks off on Saturday, October 5th, and the fun continues all weekend long, from October 4th to October 6th.
What’s Brewing?
At the heart of any Oktoberfest celebration are the beers, and Readington Brewery has a stellar lineup this year. Our Biermeister, Warren Wilson, has crafted a selection of German-style brews, including a classic märzen, a crisp festbier, a rich schwarzbier, and other special seasonal releases. These limited-edition beers are available throughout the weekend, with Friday, October 4th, being your chance to grab a festive flight and enjoy your favorite ToGo brews! Please note that ToGo services will be closed on Saturday during the main festivities.
No Oktoberfest would be complete without delicious German food. Our local vendors will be serving up classic fare like pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzel, and more! There will be something for everyone, including options for those with dietary restrictions. Whether you’re a traditionalist looking for a perfectly paired bratwurst and beer, or you’ve got a more selective palate, we’ve got you covered.
Live Music All Weekend
Enjoy live performances with free admission all weekend long. Dance along to the lively tunes and soak in the festive atmosphere! Friday night (10/04/24) is Joe Cirotti and his acoustic Trio. Cirotti is one of the most respected guitarists in the Northeast, and he will play a mix of originals and covers. Saturday, October 5th, will feature two German sets from Silver Starlite Orchestra. Then, later that day, from 4-7pm, the OTC Collective returns for another performance! The OTC Collective is a super group of singer-songwriters who came together to bring their songs to life. On Sunday, Oct 6th, Milan Lazistan is playing as an acoustic soloist in the taproom. Grab a flight and enjoy the afternoon with him!
Competitions and Activities
- Stein-Holding:
Feeling strong? Test your endurance in the Steinholding competition, where the winning man and woman will advance to the U.S. Steinholding Association’s state competition. The competition takes place on Saturday, October 5th, with men’s heats at 2pm followed by women’s heats. There’s a $10 registration fee, and winners will walk away with exclusive Readington Brewery merchandise, along with their very own stein to keep.
- Goat Race:
But that’s not all! One of the unique highlights of our Oktoberfest is the goat race, happening on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm. Our five goats, Cascade, Ace, Betty White, Otis, and Stout, will compete for the fastest time. It’s a quick race, so be sure to head to the goat pen early for the best viewing spot!
- Merchandise & Souvenirs:
Don’t forget to grab a souvenir to remember your time at Readington Brewery’s Oktoberfest. We’ll have exclusive merchandise, including t-shirts, hats, stickers, and more. If you’re looking to bring home some of our beer, make sure to swing by on Friday or Sunday, as ToGo services will not be available on Saturday, October 5th.
Important Information
While admission to Oktoberfest is free, parking on Saturday will cost $5 per car (cash only). Parking is free on Friday and Sunday. Families are welcome to join in the festivities all weekend, except from 6pm to closing time, when the venue is 21+ only. Please note that coolers, outside beverages, and tents are not permitted. Readington Brewery is a dog-friendly location, so feel free to bring your furry friend, but make sure they’re on a leash and with you at all times.
For maximum enjoyment, bring your lawn chairs and blankets to relax by the fire pits or on the heated porch, especially as the evenings cool down. And don’t worry, there will be plenty of free water stations and gluten-free and non-alcoholic drink options available for those who need them.
