In a more film-like presentation than runway, FETICO celebrated its 5th anniversary with a profoundly evocative Spring/Summer 2026 collection entitled “The Depth of Her”, presented at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo. Hosted in the architecturally iconic Yoyogi National Gymnasium, this presentation was a masterclass in fashion as emotional storytelling.
Designer Emi Funayama has taken inspiration from the hauntingly beautiful sculptural works of Rebecca Horn and Irina Ionesco, creating garments that draped over the female form with reverence and restraint. The result? A body of work that felt at once ancient and painfully contemporary, and a tribute to women who live with strength, sensuality, and grace.
Editorial-Worthy Highlights:
- Mini dress: pleated mini dress, kinetic sculpture-like, trapping movement and emotion in each fold.
- Jacquard damask denim printed to pay homage to vintage glamour for today’s woman.
- With the first emblem of its kind, the Arch bag, FETICO introduced architectural minimalism into the accessory world.
- Lace-up ballet flats and original lingerie gave an extra dimension of intimacy and softness to the collection’s sculptural heart.
Beauty Meets Concept:
In a beautiful blend of style and beauty, FETICO and cult Japanese brand THREE have come together to create “Glam Tone Color Custard,” an exclusive multi-balm that echoes the emotional colour palette of the collection. With its much-anticipated release in March 2026, it’s set to become an essential addition to the beauty minimalist toolkit and a fashion maximalist’s dream.
Exclusive Drops:
As part of Rakuten Fashion’s “by R” series, Funayama has worked on four special collaborations – consisting of remade bodysuits and barrettes – that express the essence of the SS26 collection in the form of wearable art.
A Feminine Manifesto:
FETICO continues to strike a chord with a new generation of women – Gen Z and beyond – who are looking to fashion that speaks to identity, not just looks. With SS26, Funayama not only creates clothing, but also paints a portrait of womanhood that is brave, reflective, and unashamedly beautiful.
