The second-year formalwear and travelwear for Real Madrid’s football team draws on Louis Vuitton’s Trunk collection. It doubles as a traveling showcase for a men’s line that customers can actually buy

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a second wardrobe of formalwear and formal travelwear for Real Madrid’s football team. The pieces were designed by the House’s Men’s Studio under Pharrell Williams and draw on Louis Vuitton’s Trunk collection. The new clothes arrive as the club opens its Champions League travel season, starting with Wednesday’s match against AS Roma in Rome.
The Louis Vuitton Real Madrid partnership is now in its second year. In 2025, Louis Vuitton signed on to dress Real Madrid’s men’s and women’s football teams and its men’s basketball team in formalwear and travelwear. LVMH said at the time that it was the first time the House had put its tailoring on athletes. The 2026 chapter gives the football squad a wardrobe built around one specific Louis Vuitton line, where the debut season was organized around the partnership itself.
The Trunk Collection Sets the Brief
Louis Vuitton says it built the 2026 football wardrobe from its Trunk collection. That makes the 19th-century trunk the reference for clothes worn on 21st-century team flights. According to the House, the new pieces carry embroidered club crests alongside Monogram accents, so Real Madrid’s identity sits next to Louis Vuitton’s own codes.
The Monogram is part of the story for a reason. Georges Vuitton drew the interlaced LV and floral motif in 1896 to protect the House’s trunks from copies, according to Louis Vuitton. The House is marking the pattern’s 130th anniversary throughout 2026.
Season One Laid the Groundwork
Season Two Builds on What Louis Vuitton Set Up in 2025. For the first-year launch, the House reworked its Monogram canvas in the club’s colors, added white and gold stripes, and personalized luggage with “RM” initials through its Mon Monogram service, according to LVMH. Each piece came with a leather charm made only for the partnership. Louis Vuitton photographed that first campaign at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
A Team Wardrobe That Sells Something Else
The clothes are not for sale, but the line they borrow from is. Louis Vuitton’s U.S. site lists LV Trunk Edition among its current men’s collections, so every televised arrival in Rome or at the next away game serves as a moving advertisement for menswear New York customers can buy. Mon Monogram personalization, the service behind the club’s “RM” luggage, is also offered on Louis Vuitton’s U.S. site.
The commercial logic is straightforward at this scale. LVMH reported € 80.8 billion in revenue in 2025 across a network of more than 6,280 stores. For a group that size, a football club with a global following offers reach that a seasonal ad buy can’t match.
Our read: the Trunk brief suits the job. Travel tailoring is the one place where trunkmaking discipline (structure, durability, packability) is a real design requirement and not just a mood. The risk is the second-year problem. Crests and Monogram accents on a navy wardrobe are the same tools Louis Vuitton used in 2025, so the official images need to show how far the Trunk reference really changed the clothes.
Real Madrid’s next test of the wardrobe comes on Oct. 21, when the club hosts RB Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Champions League.
