Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell (born September 18, 1984, Longview, Texas) is an American fashion designer, television personality, director, and photographer. He grew up near his grandmother’s boutique in Longview, Texas, which sparked his love of fashion. He studied photography at St. Edward’s University in Austin and returned to New York to work as a stylist, assisting Deborah Afshani, Edward Enninful, and Nicola Formichetti. Since 2012, Maxwell has served as fashion director to Lady Gaga.

Maxwell launched his luxury women’s ready-to-wear label in New York in 2015, born out of the desire to make women feel beautiful, sophisticated, and powerful with timeless, impeccably tailored garments. The entire collection is designed and produced in New York City. His accolades include the 2016 CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear, the 2016 Fashion Group International Rising Star Award, the 2019 CFDA Award for Womenswear, and the 2020 AAFA Designer of the Year Award. He has been a CFDA member since 2016. His clients include Michelle Obama, Karlie Kloss, Jennifer Lawrence, Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, Viola Davis, and Queen Rania of Jordan.
