GIVENCHY
GIVENCHY presents on the official calendar as one of French couture’s most historically elegant houses. Founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952, the house became indelibly associated with Audrey Hepburn, for whom Givenchy designed both personal and film wardrobes across a decades-long friendship and creative partnership, including her iconic little black dress in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” — a collaboration that helped define mid-century cinematic elegance and remains one of fashion’s most celebrated designer-muse relationships.
The house has passed through a notable succession of creative directors since Hubert de Givenchy’s 1995 retirement, including John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Riccardo Tisci — whose decade-long tenure introduced a darker, more gothic-romantic sensibility alongside the house’s classical foundations — and Clare Waight Keller, who became the house’s first female creative director and designed Meghan Markle’s royal wedding gown in 2018. Givenchy remains part of the LVMH group, continuing to balance its founding legacy of ladylike Parisian elegance against successive creative directors’ efforts to modernize the house for contemporary luxury customers.
For S/S 2027, GIVENCHY presents on the official Paris runway continuing over seven decades of refined, couture-trained tailoring — a house whose founding partnership with Audrey Hepburn remains one of the defining reference points in all of fashion history.
