Palazzo Visconti During Milan Fashion Week
Afraa Al-Noaimi captivated the fashion world with the unveiling of her capsule collection, Wüstenrose, at the prestigious Palazzo Visconti in Milan. The event, held under the patronage of the Lombardy Region, drew an international audience and marked a significant moment of cultural and creative exchange between Qatar and Italy.
The presentation was attended by prominent figures, including Barbara Mazzali, Councillor of the Lombardy Region, and Gianluca Mirante, Director for Italy, Cyprus, Greece, and Malta at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The presence of national and international journalists, fashion industry leaders, and institutional representatives underscored the event’s global relevance.
Wüstenrose is a poetic fusion of Afraa Al-Noaimi’s visionary design and Lombardy’s renowned manufacturing excellence. The collection features luxurious fabrics such as chiffon, silk cady, muslin, and stretch hemp, crafted into silhouettes that range from flowing capes and voluminous gowns to structured tunics and tailored ensembles. Each piece reflects a meticulous balance between fluidity and precision.
Inspired by the natural landscapes of Qatar, the color palette evokes serene desert tones—ivory, soft sky blue, sand, and earthy hues. Accessories play a vital role in storytelling: socks and gloves adorned with desert rose crystals, fine gauze hijabs, Carrara marble accents, and golden finishes pay homage to Qatari heritage while adding a distinctive touch of elegance.
Supported by the Lombardy Region, the project underscores the strategic importance of institutional collaboration in promoting cross-cultural innovation and enhancing economic ties between Italy and Qatar. The event not only celebrated Mode but also served as a platform for dialogue, creativity, and mutual respect between two rich cultural traditions.
