PARIS: The late Queen Elizabeth II wore Husky Original on horseback, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and Princess Anne kept the label in rotation around the royal estates. So when the brand set up at Who’s Next Paris on the first weekend of September, it arrived with a history most outerwear houses can only borrow, and a collection built to argue that the hunting jacket has a future as well as a past.

The run took place Sept. 5-7 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Stand Q21, where buyers, retailers and high-profile clients from around the world got a first look at Spring/Summer 2027. For Husky Original, the fair is not a side trip. It is the point where a brand born of British countryside culture, finished with Italian hands and priced for serious retail conversation, meets the international market it has spent recent seasons courting.
“Paris is a privileged window onto the international market for us,” said Saverio Moschillo, the brand’s creative designer. “It’s where our heritage has already met different cultures, markets and clients. We have grown, and we want to keep growing with our identity intact, with the ability to read the present and look to the future.”
That future comes with a new kind of warmth. Moschillo has developed a technology used in the quilting of the garments that helps the body hold its natural temperature, a small claim on paper and a large one in practice for a house whose quilted nylon jacket is the founding product. The womenswear story leads with sportswear outerwear cut to wrap the silhouette and give it presence through contemporary volume, made in the new thermoregulating quilted fabric, where function and finish do the same work. The palette moves from the natural register of sand, camel and brown through several greens to the bolder notes of red, luminous blue and white.

The womenswear piece with the most pull is the cotton trench, yarn-dyed, with a feminine, sartorial cut and quilted embroidery that traces its construction like a blueprint. It comes in sand, brown, camel, blue, and green, and it carries the season’s central argument: a coat can be elegant and engineered at the same time.
In menswear, the classic Heritage Jacket remains the anchor, but the news is the বোম্বার জ্যাকেট Camo Geo, which breaks camouflage into a geometric graphic in brown, green and beige. Cut from printed technical nylon with inserts of sustainable eco-leather and quilted detailing, it turns one of outerwear’s most recognizable codes toward the city. A reversible blouson in the label’s contrast check, in brown and gray, rounds out the offer.

The story behind the stitches gives it all its gravity. Steve Gulyas, a retired American aviator, founded Husky in 1965 with his wife, Edna, both devoted hunters and anglers who wanted clothing that fought the cold without fighting the wearer. They named the company for their husky, the four-legged companion who shadowed his master through every season. The quilted nylon jacket was the founding product, and the British royal family adopted it early, choosing it for days in the country until the brand stood for a particular kind of ease. That lineage now meets an Italian wardrobe discipline: quality raw materials, research, Made in Italy construction, and an obsession with detail that the press release politely calls a refined alchemy.
The Paris showing is one half of a two-city strategy. This year Husky Original opened a new showroom at 1 Via della Spiga in Milan, inside the Quadrilatero della Moda, conceived as the house’s home and a meeting point for buyers, retailers and wholesale partners. If the showroom is the room where the market comes to talk, the trade fair is the room where the brand raises its voice. “Being present in strategic places lets us meet different people directly and build solid relationships,” Moschillo said. “Through the product, the quality and the continuity of our work, we have already won important new markets, and we intend to keep adding to the list.”

Milan, in other words, receives the market. Paris expands it. And the collection in between keeps the promise that started with an aviator, his dog, and a very warm idea. The royals made Husky Original famous. The brand is now writing the next part of the story after the palace.
