For Fall and Winter 2026, ADEAM presents its latest collection titled Romantic x Prep, a refined exploration of contrasts where softness meets structure, and elegance is defined by intention. Rooted in the philosophy of “The Architecture of Romance, the Etiquette of Prep,” the collection reimagines classic codes through a modern, feminine lens.
A Personal Vision
This season’s inspiration is deeply personal to ADEAM’s founder and designer, Hanako Maeda, whose upbringing attending prep schools in both New York City and Tokyo shaped her unique aesthetic sensibility. The collection reflects a fusion of Upper East Side prep and Tokyo’s Kawaii romanticism, blending polished tradition with youthful charm and expressive femininity.
Maeda launched ADEAM in 2012 and debuted her first collection at New York Fashion Week for Fall 2013. The brand’s name originated from her family name, Maeda, spelled backward. Since then, the brand has become known for its commitment to craftsmanship, functionality, and convertibility. Maeda’s signature approach has always involved infusing traditional Japanese techniques with modern silhouettes, resulting in a distinctive and recognizable style.
Silhouettes and Fabrications
Romantic silhouettes, including puff sleeves, delicate ties, and fluid draping, are balanced by constructive blazers and architectural pleating, creating a wardrobe that feels both expressive and disciplined. Tulle and chiffon are paired with luxurious cashmere knitwear, offering a tactile dialogue between lightness and warmth, intimacy and polish.
Details such as pearls, gold buttons, and scarf-inspired prints lend a sense of heritage refinement, while a neutral color palette is energized by bold accents of red and electric blue. The result is a collection that celebrates contrast with quiet confidence: romantic yet composed, nostalgic yet unmistakably modern.
The Looks
The collection spans 25 women’s looks and 9 ADEAM ICHI looks, the brand’s gender-neutral line introduced in 2021. The women’s range opens with structured outerwear pieces such as the Cambridge Coat and Elmwood Jacket, while flowing skirts like the Emma Skirt and Cloister Skirt bring in the romantic element. Standout pieces include the Rhode Island Dress in bold scarf-print silk, the dramatic velvet Cloister Top and Skirt ensemble closing the women’s lineup, and the sleek Maia Dress in electric blue.
The ADEAM ICHI section maintains the collection’s prep-inspired codes through relaxed tailoring, easy layering, and a palette that spans navy, rich brown, and deep burgundy. Key pieces include the Eliot Jacket, Ernest Hoodie, and versatile Wilson Pant, all designed with the same attention to quality and proportion that defines the mainline.
ADEAM Today
ADEAM continues to define a new elegance: one that honors tradition, embraces femininity, and finds beauty in balance. The brand has grown to include two freestanding stores in Tokyo, including its flagship at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi. Notable past partnerships include tennis superstar Naomi Osaka and nineties supermodel Carolyn Murphy, both centered on an appreciation of Japanese culture and powerful, timeless silhouettes.
With the Fall and Winter 2026 collection, Maeda reaffirms that ADEAM is not simply a الموضة label but a living dialogue between East and West, past and present, structure and softness.
