Miami’s Art Basel is renowned for its vibrant art scene, but amidst the galleries and installations, a unique event took place: the FIRST® Robotics & i.am/Angel Foundation Gala. This fusion of science, technology, creativity, and glamour celebrated the power of innovation and its potential to shape the future.
The evening unfolded with a cocktail and robots reception, where guests were greeted by none other than Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am. In a truly memorable entrance, will.i.am zipped through the crowd on a FIRST team robot, showcasing the ingenuity and dynamism of the organization’s initiatives.
This extraordinary entrance set the tone for the evening, which culminated in a fireside chat between will.i.am, FIRST® Founder Dean Kamen, and Honoree Ursula Burns. The conversation explored the intersection of art and STEM, highlighting its importance in fostering young minds and igniting their passion for innovation.
Throughout the evening, guests were immersed in an environment that transcended the typical gala experience. Interactive exhibits showcasing FIRST Robotics projects and cutting-edge technology provided a glimpse into the future, while artistic installations served as a reminder of the creative potential that lies within technological innovation.
