Eckhaus Latta

Eckhaus Latta is an American fashion brand founded in 2011 by Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, who met as students at the Rhode Island School of Design — Eckhaus studied sculpture and Latta studied textiles. After graduating, Eckhaus worked as an accessories designer at Marc by Marc Jacobs while Latta ran a textiles business selling prints to Calvin Klein and Proenza Schouler. Looking to move beyond commercial environments, they decided to design a collection together and held their first show in February 2012.

The brand is known for its use of unexpected materials, exploring texture and tactility, and for incorporating writing, performance, and video into its practice. In 2018, Eckhaus Latta opened “Possessed” at the Whitney Museum — the first fashion-related exhibition at the museum in 21 years. The label has exhibited at the Hammer Museum (2016) and MoMA PS1 (2015), and was nominated for the 2018 LVMH Prize. Eckhaus Latta has been a

regular NYFW presenter since 2012, with Vogue calling their SS18 show “the brand’s most coherent and accomplished show yet.” The brand has locations in Los Angeles and New York.
