AKRIS presents its refined Swiss minimalism on Sunday’s runway. Founded in St. Gallen, Switzerland in 1922 by Alice Kriemler-Schoch, the house began as a womenswear atelier before passing through successive generations of the Kriemler family, with the brand’s name itself an amalgamation of Alice Kriemler’s own — the house remains one of the very few luxury fashion companies still family-owned across multiple generations, currently under the creative direction of Albert Kriemler, Alice’s grandson, who has led design since 1980. 

Akris has built its reputation on precise, architecturally minded tailoring executed with the technical rigor associated with Swiss craftsmanship — clean silhouettes, innovative fabric technology, and a design language that favors quiet sophistication over overt branding. The house is particularly known for its long-running collaborations with contemporary artists, translating their work into printed textile patterns each season, a practice that has connected Akris’s understated ready-to-wear to the broader contemporary art world in a way few other houses of its scale attempt. 

For S/S 2027, AKRIS presents on the official Paris calendar continuing over a century of family-run Swiss design discipline — a house whose commitment to technical precision and quiet luxury has made it a consistent, if understated, presence on fashion’s most prominent stage.
