BitBasel and The Hill District Bring Art and Technology to Lauderhill at “The Future of the Arts” Holiday Party
Lauderhill, FL – The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center was the stage for an unforgettable evening on December 12, 2024, as BitBasel and The Hill District partnered to host The Future of the Arts Holiday Party. This event, presented in collaboration with BQT Technologies and the City of Lauderhill, marked a pivotal moment in an ongoing partnership to integrate art and technology into the city’s cultural fabric.
The event celebrated the vibrancy of Caribbean culture while showcasing how cutting-edge technology can elevate artistic expression. Attendees explored a curated selection of Caribbean art presented by Island SPACE, which highlighted the region’s rich storytelling traditions and cultural heritage. Mabï Tea, a staple of the Caribbean, added a flavorful connection to the islands, celebrating community and tradition.

BitBasel brought the future of art to life with immersive digital displays, including holograms, projection mapping, and virtual reality exhibits. These innovative installations demonstrated how technology can transform the art experience, inspiring creative collaboration within Lauderhill.

“This event represents the power of partnerships,” said Scarlett Arana, Co-Founder of BitBasel. “By working with The Hill District and the City of Lauderhill, we’re not just celebrating culture, we’re building a foundation for innovation and growth in the arts.”
City officials and community leaders came together to support the initiative, including Mayor Denise D. Grant, Lauderhill City Commissioners John T. Hodgson, Melissa Dunn, and Ray Martin, and Broward County Commissioner Robert McKenzie. Leaders from The Hill District, including John Milledge, Michael Ullian, and Brian D’Antonio, emphasized their commitment to investing in Lauderhill’s cultural and technological future.
Scott Spiegel, CEO of BitBasel, added, “This collaboration is about more than events. It’s about creating opportunities for the city of Lauderhill to lead in the art-tech space, empowering local artists and engaging the community.”
The success of the holiday party has set the stage for bigger initiatives, with plans underway for the inaugural BitBasel Future of the Arts Festival in Spring 2025. This festival aims to deepen the partnership’s impact, fostering innovation and collaboration in Lauderhill while further integrating art and technology into the city’s cultural identity.
