Sebastian Yatra’s ‘Star Q&A’ at Billboard Latin Music Week

October 3, 2023 (Miami, FL) – Yesterday Billboard Latin Music Week welcomed 2x Latin GRAMMY award winner Sebastián Yatra (@SebastianYatra) for the “Star Q&A”. The conversation with the Colombian singer-songwriter known for pushing the boundaries of Latin pop music was moderated by singer-songwriter Lasso, who Yatra befriended and recorded a remix together for the song, “Ojos Marrones.”

During the “Star Q&A,” the multi-talented hitmaker spoke about his musical journey, the success of his critically acclaimed single “Tacones Rojos,” and the advice he received from his parents that still resonates with him. He highlighted his childhood move to the United States from Medellin, Colombia, and his decision to sing in Spanish. The multiplatinum composer also shared behind-the-scenes details about the composition process, sources of inspiration, his video directing contributions, including his latest music video for the single “Energía Bacana,” and more intimate topics like mental health and handling fame. Yatra shares, “Being human is what really transcends anything and enters people’s hearts, and what really gives you a meaning and a purpose for doing this.” In regard to what’s next, Yatra joked about maybe recruiting Lasso, Peso Pluma, Guaynaa, and Karol G to one day start a pop band – watch clips from the panel here (1) & (2)!

At the end of the panel, Yatra also announced and presented his Disney Create100 project, a relationship that stemmed from his Oscar-nominated Platinum® single “Dos Oruguitas” from the movie, Encantowhich he also performed on the prestigious award show that year.
