Forty-seven looks on the closing day of Paris Fashion Week found the Tbilisi label pulling its structured shoulder back to minimum and betting on shirts, trousers and its first organza

PARIS — Situationist showed 47 looks for spring 2027 on Oct. 6, the closing day of Paris Fashion Week, pulling the Tbilisi label’s structured, shoulder-heavy signature back toward shirts, trousers and its first organza. David Giorgadze, creative director and cofounder, described the collection to WWD as a wardrobe of wearable, more affordable pieces than the house’s coats.
That is a pricing argument before it is a design one. Situationist turns 10 this year, founded in Tbilisi in 2016, and it appeared on the final afternoon of a womenswear calendar at the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, filled with 101 labels across 68 взлетно-посадочная полоса shows and 33 presentations from Sept. 28 to Oct. 6, hours before Louis Vuitton closed the season.
A label that built its name on coats is now asking shirts and pants to carry the business. The clothes have to make that case without giving up the silhouette the coats are bought for.
The Signature Jacket Lost Its Armor
Giorgadze and Irakli Rusadze, the designer and cofounder, pared back the house jacket, exaggerated at the shoulder and cinched at the waist, to put the weight on construction, according to WWD’s review of the collection. Less padding. Fewer seams to look at. It is the right move for a wardrobe pitch and the riskiest one in the show, because that shoulder was the shorthand.
Leather took over the structural work the jacket gave up. Numéro Netherlands’ show report describes V-neck tank tops, T-shirts, skirts and outerwear cut in leather, including a leather turtleneck worn over a shirt with a diagonally cut skirt, half blue and half black. A snake-print bikini came with a thick buckle belt in the same print. Menswear carried leather into wide trousers, a sleeveless vest and short shorts in black and burgundy.
Organza Carries the Risk, Leather Carries the Sale
“It’s the first time for us to use very thin fabrics, like organza,” Giorgadze told WWD, calling the result a fresher, sexier take on what the house stands for. Organza arrived as blazers. Zebra print ran across trenches and sleeves, and bold epaulets sat next to fluid draping, per Numéro Netherlands.
Organza is the newest material in the collection and the hardest one to price. A sheer blazer is a styling piece; a leather skirt is a unit. If the spring 2027 book proves the affordability argument, leather and denim will do the proving, and the organza will sell the pictures.
The Borjgali Does the Georgian Heavy Lifting
The Borjgali, an ancient Georgian sun symbol, appeared on belts, cuffs and earrings. It is the clearest line Situationist draws back to Tbilisi now that the tailoring has been quieted, and it does the job hardware does at larger houses: a repeatable, ownable mark that can be manufactured at an accessible price. The palette ran sky blue, lipstick red and pumpkin orange.
Where the 47-Look Lineup Thins Out
The menswear is the quieter half of a coed show, punctuated by pale pink and python-print suits worn open, plus bright red and blue flip-flops. Across 47 looks it reads as a supporting section rather than a second argument. The prints also do a lot of carrying. Snake, python, and zebra in one lineup is variety where a collection announcing a move toward minimalism needed a clear position.
The commercial weakness is that the affordability claim arrived without numbers. Situationist gave no price points, no delivery window, and no door count for spring 2027. “More affordable” is a direction, not a tier, and buyers will settle it in the showroom.
What an Entry Price Asks of a Tbilisi Atelier
The production model is the hard part. Situationist says it runs no mass production in its Tbilisi atelier, that each garment is signed by the seamstress who made it, and that it buys most fabric as Italian deadstock in the exact quantity needed. Numéro Netherlands reported that women artisans hand-produced the collection. That method is the reason the clothes look the way they do. It is also the reason an entry-price program is harder here than at a brand that can place a shirt order with a factory.
Distribution runs through wholesale and e-tail rather than owned retail. Situationist’s company listing with Trade With Georgia names Ssense, Net-a-Porter, Dover Street Market and Isetan Mitsukoshi among its stockists, and Ssense has carried Ssense-exclusive Situationist pieces. For a Нью-Йорк shopper, Dover Street Market is the closest thing to a counter, and everything else arrives by shipment. A wardrobe strategy built on repeat purchases of shirts and trousers usually wants more shelf than that.
The pared-back jacket is the look to watch on the rail. If the shirts and pants land where Giorgadze says they will, the coat stops being the only reason to know Situationist. If they don’t, spring 2027 was a lighter collection, not a cheaper one.
