DETROIT, MI – August 20, 2024 – Over the weekend, GRAMMY® nominated international Jamaican pop star, Shenseea took to the stage to deliver an unforgettable performance at the world’s largest Afrobeats festival, AfroNation 2024. She is the first dancehall artist to join this year’s star-studded lineup, featuring Nigerian sensations from Rema, Omah Lay, and Asake, to hitmakers including PartyNextDoor. Stunning in a bold red backless top paired with high-waisted black tassel shorts, Shenseea captivated the audience with her vibrant presence, dynamic choreography, and a lively mix of fan favorites and hit tracks including “Work Me Out” featuring Afrobeats star Wizkid from her chart-topping album, ‘Never Gets Late Here.’
Shenseea first brought her album ‘Never Gets Late Here.’ to life with electrifying performances across the Caribbean, and now to Afro Nation in Detroit. This performance comes hot on the heels of the official start of her 12-city North American tour, which kicked off last Friday, August 16th with a sold-out show at the House of Blues in Chicago. With five stops already sold out, this tour promises to be an unforgettable journey. Running from August 16th to September 6th, it showcases Shenseea’s chart-topping album Never Gets Late Here, which held the number one spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart for three consecutive weeks and features iconic collaborations with Coi Leray, Wizkid, and DJ Genius. The tour is seeping through major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Miami, before culminating for a grand finale in Las Vegas. Continuing a year of remarkable success, Shenseea’s latest sophomore album, Never Gets Late Here solidified the GRAMMY nominee as one of Jamaica’s most promising rising stars.
