Gucci Celebrates the Festive Season with Cocktails and a DJ Set by Carlita at the House’s Immersive Installation for Art Basel Miami

In a celebration of the festive season, Gucci has unveiled a spectacular immersive installation at Sweet Bird North Plaza in Miami’s Design District, attracting a host of tastemakers, artists, and leaders from the fashion, art, and entertainment industries. The event took place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, as part of the House’s contribution to the Art Basel Miami festivities, marking a unique fusion of art, fashion, and holiday spirit.

The exclusive gathering, which included influential figures such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Athena Calderone, Yara Shahidi, Venus Williams, and many others, featured an enchanting display inspired by the whimsical world of snow globes. The installation, which blends the House’s rich heritage with its travel-inspired legacy, is open to the public through January 7, 2025, offering a sensory experience designed to surprise and delight visitors throughout the holiday season.

A Holiday Installation Inspired by Enchanted Snow Globes

The installation, located between Gucci’s two boutiques in the Miami Design District, is a true homage to Gucci’s storied history. With its imaginative approach, the design combines various threads of the brand’s narrative, reinterpreting the magic and wonder of snow globes. Visitors can expect a vibrant and multi-sensory environment where Gucci’s signature aesthetics meet festive elements, creating an immersive experience for guests of all ages.

Gucci has also collaborated with local favorites to create a unique holiday atmosphere as part of the celebration. Visitors can enjoy ice cream from Peel, a well-loved Miami spot, and coffee and baked goods from Rosetta, an Italian bakery known for its delicious treats. The event offers something for everyone, including weekend coloring activities for children, ensuring a family-friendly atmosphere throughout the holiday season.

Art Wall Takeovers by Corydon Cowansage

In addition to the installation, Gucci has partnered with American artist Corydon Cowansage for a series of Art Wall takeovers, adding a layer of contemporary art to the festive festivities. Cowansage, whose work features biomorphic shapes and sensual, undulating forms, has adapted one of her existing pieces into three murals that now adorn the area between the square and Gucci’s women’s boutique. These murals add depth and movement to the installation, complementing Gucci’s festive theme while offering a taste of the artist’s participation at Art Basel Miami 2024, which started on December 4.

The collaboration with Cowansage brings a fresh, vibrant energy to Gucci’s Miami celebration, with the artist’s lush, organic palette further enhancing the immersive nature of the display.

Cocktail Reception and DJ Set by Carlita

As the sun set on the evening of December 3, the plaza transformed into a glamorous space for the cocktail reception. Guests, including industry leaders and influencers such as Kering Deputy CEO Francesca Bellettini, model Karolina Kurkova, and artists like Mickalene Thomas, mingled while enjoying cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. The atmosphere was further elevated by DJ sets from Tiffy Vera and Carlita, who spun an eclectic mix of tunes, keeping the energy high and guests dancing into the night.

The evening’s event was an exclusive affair, offering a glimpse into Gucci’s world of creativity and luxury. Following the cocktail reception, Gucci hosted an intimate dinner at the renowned restaurant Mother Wolf, where guests continued the celebrations in a more private setting, enjoying exquisite cuisine and lively conversation.

Gucci’s Ongoing Commitment to Art and Culture

Gucci’s immersive installation and Art Basel Miami presence exemplify the brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting the intersection of art and fashion. The event not only celebrated the festive season but also served as a platform for Gucci to further engage with the global art community during one of the world’s most significant art events. By bringing together a curated group of artists, influencers, and cultural leaders, Gucci continues to solidify its position as a key player in both the fashion and art worlds.

As the installation remains on view through early January, it provides a unique opportunity for the public to experience Gucci’s festive spirit in a completely new light, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the magic of the holidays while reflecting the brand’s heritage and contemporary vision.
