Hailing from Haitian parents in New York City, Rich The Kid was raised on Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, and 50 Cent. With early musical influence from bands like Sublime, Green Day, and System of a Down. His musical instincts were always wide. His debut mixtape Been About the Benjamins dropped in 2013, and he quickly linked with Migos for the Streets on Lock series, embedding himself in Atlanta’s most fertile creative era before the industry even had a name for it.

Rich The Kid’s solo projects stacked fast: Feels Good to Be Rich, Rich Than Famous, Flexin’ on Purpose, Dabbin’ Fever, building a catalog that kept his name in rotation across every corner of rap. Then in 2016, he founded Rich Forever Música, signing Famous Dex and Jay Critch and expanding his reach from artist to architect. The mission was never just his own career. It was about changing other people’s lives too. 2018 was the breakthrough when “New Freezer” featuring Kendrick Lamar went platinum, and “Plug Walk” lodged itself in the culture permanently, lean and hypnotic and impossible to shake.

His album, The World Is Yours, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, commercial validation for years of underground work finally meeting its moment. More albums followed alongside collaborations with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Lil Wayne, each project adding another layer without ever losing the thread. Then 2024 delivered the peak. Flying himself out to Wyoming and into one of Kanye West’s recording camps, Rich seized the moment, and “Carnival” featuring Kanye, Ty Dolla Sign, and Playboi Carti hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

His first chart-topper. A decade in, still ascending. Ce’ La Vie, that’s life, is what comes next. A global, multicultural project built through travel, personal evolution, and collaborations that span continents and sounds, it’s the work of an artist who has been everywhere, absorbed everything, and still has somewhere new to go.
