Sandy Liang
Sandy Liang (born June 4, 1991, Flushing, Queens, New York) is a New York-based fashion designer who launched her eponymous label in 2014 after graduating from Parsons School of Design. She briefly studied architecture at RISD before transferring to Parsons. Her brand is famously rooted in hyper-local and nostalgic inspirations, particularly the “Chinatown grandma” style she observed while growing up in Queens and spending time at her father’s Manhattan restaurant, Congee Village. Her first collection was released in Fall/Winter 2014, and her first runway show was held at Congee Village for Spring/Summer 2015.
Liang rose to mainstream prominence in 2019 when her leopard-print fleece jackets became a viral sensation, leading to the opening of her Lower East Side flagship store in 2020. She has been recognized by the CFDA as a 2020 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist and became a CFDA member. The brand has been regularly shown at NYFW to both critical and commercial success, with Vogue calling her Spring 2026 collection a demonstration of her “ability to create not just clothes, but also a fantasy.” Liang has collaborated with Gap, Target, and Baggu.
