Can you share with our readers how you started your company and the mission behind it?

sweatconnected was founded by me and my former co-worker and longtime friend, Danielle Devine-Baum. When the pandemic first started and everyone was confined to their homes, Danielle quickly brought her classes online and saw how the need for fitness and community was more important than ever. I soon joined in to teach and voilà – sweatconnected was born! Kara Bocchi-Deych then joined the team to help bring sweatconnected to the next level: adding in-person classes on the UWS.

Our mission is to help you feel your absolute best.  We believe in the power of group fitness to be transformative, not only physically but also mentally.  Group fitness can bring people together, and build an ongoing group that continues outside the gym.  Group fitness also creates and fosters new connections among different people from all backgrounds – people you’d never meet anywhere else but share your larger goals.  At sweatconnected, we welcome everyone: all ages, all sizes, all fitness levels…you name it. All Humans Welcome!

What makes your company stand out from others that are in your space?

Sweatconnected is a true hybrid studio. Our in-person studio on the Upper West Side of NYC has 29 bikes and a full-service locker room.  Every class we teach in our studio will also be available virtually. You can join using any bike, anywhere! Our virtual classes are two-way – we see you, and you see us.  You won’t feel like you are working out alone. This is a GROUP virtual class.  We also have a full on-demand library of classes for when the live classes don’t fit into your schedule.

If you could go back and talk to your younger self what would you tell her?

That no matter what you’re starting with, fight to get to where you want to go. And use sunscreen!

Where do you see your company going in this new year and in the future?

Kara, Danielle and I are fully committed to growing our community both in-person and virtually but will always strive to keep it the heart of our company – we are here to make your fitness routine fun, effective, smart and convenient.
