Limited to 1,963 examples, Lamborghini’s new V12 flagship pushes hybrid performance into its most extreme production form yet.
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif — At Monterey Car Week, Lamborghini turned The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, into the stage for the next chapter of its most storied performance lineage. The marque unveiled the Revuelto SV, the fifth Lamborghini to carry the Super Veloce name and the latest, most forceful interpretation of its V12 super sports car.
Limited to 1,963 units, the Revuelto SV arrives as the most powerful and fastest-accelerating production Lamborghini ever built in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Its numbers are formidable: a combined 1,065 CV, or 1,050 horsepower, a zero-to-62-mph sprint in 2.4 seconds and a top speed exceeding 214 mph, or 345 km/h.
Yet the Revuelto SV’s significance extends beyond performance figures. Lamborghini attempts to preserve the emotional theater of a naturally aspirated V12 while advancing the car’s hybrid architecture, aerodynamic intelligence, and track-focused precision.
A Super Veloce Legacy, Recast for the Hybrid Era
The Super Veloce designation, translated as “Super Fast,” first appeared on the Miura SV in 1971. Since then, Lamborghini has reserved it for its most uncompromising V12 models, including the Diablo SV in 1995, the Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce in 2009, and the Aventador SV in 2015.
The Revuelto SV now joins that lineage with a naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with three electric motors and a new high-performance battery. Compared with the standard Revuelto, it adds 50 CV, or 49 horsepower, while optimized aerodynamics generate more downforce and support more precise handling, sharper responsiveness, and improved lap-time performance on track.
“The Super Veloce lineage is one of the most iconic in Lamborghini’s history, reserved for some of our most extreme V12 models,” said Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and chief executive officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “With the Revuelto SV, we continue that tradition by taking our V12 flagship to a higher expression of performance and driving emotion.”
Winkelmann also positioned the The Quail debut as a deliberate celebration with Lamborghini’s customers and enthusiasts in the United States, the company’s largest global market. “Sharing this milestone at The Quail, together with our top customers and enthusiasts in our largest global market, is the perfect way to celebrate the next chapter of the SV legacy,” he said.
Lamborghini’s Hybrid Lineup Takes the Spotlight
The Revuelto SV did not appear alone. Lamborghini used the event to present a broader portrait of its hybridized future, sharing the stage with the Temerario Tricolore and the Urus SE Performante.
The Temerario Tricolore expresses Italian identity through a distinctive Ad Personam specification inspired by “Made in Italy” craftsmanship and design. The Urus SE Performante, meanwhile, establishes a new performance benchmark for the brand’s Super SUV category. It accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 194 mph, or 312 km/h, making it the fastest Super SUV in the world.
Together, the three models frame Lamborghini’s current strategy: electrification not as a retreat from drama, but as another instrument for amplifying speed, control and character.
The company’s V12 heritage was further underscored by a dedicated Diablo class at The Quail. Thirty Diablo models from 1994 to 2001 were displayed, including several Diablo SV examples that chart the evolution of the Super Veloce name. The gathering connected the Revuelto SV’s future-facing technology with the raw, wedge-shaped history that made Lamborghini’s V12 cars cultural icons.
From The Quail to Pebble Beach
Throughout Monterey Car Week, Lamborghini is welcoming clients, collectors and VIP guests to the Lamborghini Lounge Monterey, positioned alongside the Pebble Beach Golf Links. The lounge presents the company’s latest lineup, including the Revuelto SV, Temerario and Urus SE Performante.
On August 16, Lamborghini will also mark the 60th anniversary of the Miura at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. More than 40 examples are scheduled to appear on the event’s third fairway, creating what the company describes as the largest gathering of Miuras ever assembled.
The display will be anchored by the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage, a special edition limited to 99 examples. Its role is symbolic as much as celebratory: the original Miura helped define the modern supercar, while the Revuelto SV carries the spirit of that breakthrough into a new era of hybrid performance.
The result is a Lamborghini that treats history not as a museum piece, but as a performance brief. With its limited production, naturally aspirated V12 and electrified powertrain, the Revuelto SV makes the Super Veloce formula contemporary without diluting its essential promise: speed with spectacle, engineering with emotion and a flagship built to feel as extraordinary as it looks.
