Christian Cowan built his Spring/Summer 2027 collection on an appealing contradiction. The starting point was the classic feminine silhouette, but nothing about it stayed polite. Cowan sharpened the shapes with a cool edge and worked in textures that catch you off guard, which is the whole trick: take a vintage woman and set her down in the present day, unchanged in spirit, entirely current in attitude.
The color palette follows the same logic. It stays grounded in neutrals and black, with bold pops of purple, yellow, and red cutting through. Restraint first, then a jolt.
And if the clothes carried the silhouette, the hands carried the mood.
“Feminine, Powerful, and a Little Unexpected”
Lead manicurist Gina Edwards didn’t treat the nails as an afterthought. She treated them as character work.
“She’s captivating, confident, and completely in tune with who she is and what she wants,” Edwards says of the woman the collection imagines. “The look is moody and mysterious with a dark twist — feminine, powerful, and a little unexpected.”

Edwards drew the bespoke manicure by hand, aiming for something specific.
“For the bespoke nails, I included a playful black design meant to replicate the shapes of a woman,” she says. “I wanted the look to be feminine and bold.”
Here is exactly how she built it:
- Apply Fangtastic from the Kiss Halloween Collection, keeping the same oval shape.
- Take black nail paint (gel or regular) and make two half-circles connected down the middle.
- Fill in the top and the bottom of the nail with the black nail paint.
- Add top gel coat and cure for 60 seconds.
