La Bagatelle is a Copenhagen-based fashion label founded by designer Malene Malling. The brand takes its name from the historic house “Bagatel,” drawn by architect Gottlieb Bindesbøll in the small seaside town of Taarbæk just outside Copenhagen — now Malling’s home, shared with her daughters and their dog Eddie. This tiny, charmed house has been key to developing La Bagatelle from dream project into a brand.

Malling’s love of collecting — from interior treasures to clothes — is central to the brand’s identity. Her cupboards are full of garments reflecting a life lived in the world of fashion, from important collections to vintage finds.
