Malone Souliers has once again put Tommy Ton behind the camera for its Autumn 2026 Runway campaign, moving an ongoing collaboration between the London footwear house and the Canadian photographer from New York to Paris.

Malone Souliers Taps Tommy Ton for Autumn 2026 Runway Campaign

Styled by Chiara Batistoni and shot on location in the French capital, the images center the brand’s newest collection of sculptural boots, mules and sandals rather than a cast of talent — no model or celebrity credit is attached to the campaign, per the materials made available.

“The campaign explores the contrasts that define the world’s great ファッション cities,” the brand said in a statement, describing a lineup built on “sculptural silhouettes and refined craftsmanship” meant to strike “timeless elegance with a contemporary point of view.”

Ton is widely credited as one of the pioneers of street-style photography, first through his blog Jak & Jil, then via Style.com and GQ.com, and has since shot campaigns for brands including Dries Van Noten, ルイ・ヴィトン and H&M. The Malone Souliers booking extends that shift from documenting the shows to working directly with the labels that walk in them, rather than reading as a one-off.

The collection itself leads with the Rowe mule, a new silhouette with an elongated square toe and the brand’s Wave heel, drawn from the curve of the label’s Maureen pump. The same architectural line runs through the Raven knee-high boot and Rowan ankle boot, both finished with covered buckles. A new Arc family — bi-material pumps, ankle boots, slingbacks and a Maureen iteration — builds out what the brand calls one of its signature codes, the curved silhouette.

Elsewhere, the Kali sandal renders circular motifs in cascading gold hardware, the Knightsbridge loafer is built on a traditional moccasin construction, and the Halo mule and stiletto slingback carry the label’s signature strap in polished metal, paired with a matching Halo handbag. Materials include laser-cut leather patterned after zebra stripes and embossed patent leather engineered to mimic python.

Pricing runs from £675 for the Arc slingback and Rowe mule to £1,600 for the Raven tall boot; the Kali sandal is priced at £765.

Creative Direction and the Language of Place

The decision to relocate the shoot from New York to Paris signals a deliberate evolution in the narrative arc between Malone Souliers and Tommy Ton. While New York offered a kinetic, street-level energy that aligned with Ton’s documentary roots, Paris provides a backdrop of architectural grandeur and historic ateliers that mirrors the structural rigor of the Autumn 2026 collection. Chiara Batistoni’s styling reinforces this dialogue, stripping away the distraction of personality-driven casting to let the architecture of the footwear command the frame. The absence of credited talent is not an omission but a curatorial choice; the wearer is implied, allowing a global, multilingual audience to project their own identity onto the silhouettes. This approach positions the product as the protagonist, a strategy that resonates with a readership that values design integrity over celebrity endorsement. Ton’s lens, known for capturing the spontaneous choreography of fashion weeks, here adopts a controlled stillness, treating the boots and mules as artifacts within a considered composition. The resulting images function as both a campaign and a visual thesis on the brand’s design philosophy: that true modernity requires a reverence for craft.

Engineering the Silhouette: Technical Innovation in Materials

Beyond the aesthetic vocabulary of curved lines and architectural heels, the Autumn 2026 collection reveals a deep investment in material engineering. The use of laser-cut leather patterned after zebra stripes demonstrates a precision that bridges traditional leatherworking with digital fabrication, creating surface depth without the weight of appliqué. Similarly, the embossed patent leather engineered to mimic python texture addresses the growing demand for exotic aesthetics without the ethical and regulatory complexities of genuine skins. This technical approach extends to the construction of the Wave heel, a feat of balance and ergonomics derived from the Maureen pump’s architecture. By translating the curve of a stiletto into a block heel that maintains structural stability, the design team solves a persistent tension in luxury footwear: the compromise between sculptural form and wearability. The Knightsbridge loafer, built on traditional moccasin construction, grounds the collection in heritage techniques, while the bi-material Arc family – combining contrasting textures in pumps, ankle boots, and slingbacks – showcases the maison’s capacity for complex assembly. These details, often invisible in campaign imagery, are the foundation of the price architecture ranging from £675 to £1,600.

Market Positioning and the Collector's Wardrobe

Malone Souliers occupies a distinct stratum in the luxury footwear market: accessible enough to attract the emerging professional, yet technically sophisticated enough to satisfy the seasoned collector. The Autumn 2026 pricing strategy reinforces this duality. At £675, the Arc slingback and Rowe mule serve as considered entry points, offering the brand’s signature Wave heel and curved silhouette at a threshold that invites trial. The Raven tall boot at £1,600 anchors the top tier, functioning as a statement investment piece that justifies its cost through embossed leather complexity and knee-high construction. The Kali sandal at £765, with its cascading gold hardware, targets the evening-occasion buyer seeking jewelry-adjacent footwear. This tiered structure supports a wardrobe-building philosophy rather than a trend-driven purchase cycle. For the global audience of New York Style Guide, the collection’s versatility – spanning the Knightsbridge loafer for daytime rigor to the Halo mule for after-hours – addresses the fluid dress codes of contemporary metropolitan life. The accompanying Halo handbag suggests a nascent accessories expansion, signaling the brand’s ambition to evolve from a footwear specialist into a holistic leather goods house.
