Silent Yachts presented its new SY62 3-Deck Open at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2024 (October 30 – November 3) as the solar-electric catamaran made its US debut. Silent Yachts is at G Dock, Bahia Mar, slip G-721.
Based on the popular SY62 platform, the new model adds an open-sided third deck, perfect for entertaining or flexible accommodations. This 60 sqm space can be used as a salon, entertaining area, or extra accommodations. The hardtop provides shade and can be customized with sofas, dining tables, bar space, gym equipment, or even a Jacuzzi, the layout is entirely up to your preference.

Flybridge
Designed for warm destinations like Florida and the Mediterranean, the Open version of the SY62 3-Deck is a real showstopper. The hardtop, supported by two legs and four additional supports, gives almost 360° views, shade, and breeze for ultimate comfort.
This model has a stylish three-stool wet bar in the middle of the flybridge surrounded by sunbeds in durable, weather-resistant Sunbrella fabric. High-low tables in each area can be used for relaxed coffee cocktail time or elegant dining. With Silent Yachts’ flexibility, the flybridge can be tailored to any owner’s wishes.
Indoor-outdoor space
The term “cockpit” hardly does justice to this yacht, where dual helm stations are positioned on both the flybridge and the saloon. The aft main deck is a spacious social area with sheltered seating and dining on built-in sofas. An optional grill and fridge are subtly integrated here, along with ample storage for cruising essentials.
Steps descend to the skirts of each hull, making it easy to access a marina pontoon either aft or alongside. This aft area, including the teak-lined bathing platform, forms an 8-meter-wide hub for water sports, swimming, and relaxation by the water. The platform also functions as a tender lift, able to raise and store a boat weighing up to 500 kg.
Broadside decks lead to the bow area, which can feature either a forward lounge or a row of sunbeds on the low roof over the master cabin. Altogether, the main deck offers 75-80 square meters of exterior space.
The 50-square-meter saloon connects seamlessly to the outdoor area through sliding doors and windows, allowing the aft galley to serve both indoor and outdoor spaces. Generous counter space lines both port and starboard, making it easy to serve food to the cockpit without leaving the conversation. An L-shaped sofa forward wraps around an extendable table that seats up to eight. With the touch of a button, the table lowers to create a coffee table or a spacious daybed/TV lounge with added cushions.
To starboard, two plush pilot seats offer excellent forward and side views, with navigation controls conveniently within reach. A fully functional helm station is also available at the forward end of the flybridge.
Stealth mode is always on
The core of the Silent Yachts concept is its electric propulsion, which is perfectly highlighted in the new SY62 3-Deck model. This yacht offers twin electric motors with power options up to 340kW. As motor power increases, so does the capacity of the battery bank, reaching up to 286kWh. Each battery is built from high-quality lithium-ion cells, managed by a sophisticated system that ensures both high performance and safety.
All models cruise comfortably at 6-8 knots, with top speed varying according to the selected power package.
Power from the sun
Solar power is at the heart of the Silent Yachts philosophy. With a 16.8kW solar array, the yacht can generate most of its daily power requirements. The panels are positioned on the hardtop and forward overhang of the superstructure to get maximum sun exposure for energy harvesting.
This reduces generator usage and allows for hours of silent, eco-friendly cruising and even overnight anchoring in complete silence. “This amount of solar power changes the yachting experience,” says Steve Bell, Vice Chairman of the Board. “Our owners love the silent operation of the yacht as one of the best features.”
With the silence on board, Silent Yachts goes even further in creating a luxurious onboard life. The in-house design team designs the lines, interior layout, and styling of the yacht.
Forward saloon door option
Owners can choose between a forward exit from the saloon that leads to a cozy forward lounge or a spacious master cabin centrally located across the twin hulls on the lower deck. The forward exit option, already popular on other models, is expected to be equally well-received on the SY62 3-Deck by Silent Yachts. This option provides a shaded seating area, a raised sunbed with sweeping views of the anchorage, and a durable, sea-tight door for easy access to the front of the saloon. Here, a generous sofa sits to port and the helm station is located to starboard, offering both comfort and functionality.
Central owner’s stateroom option
The Front Master cabin option offers a luxurious central owner’s cabin, replacing the forward lounge. It provides excellent headroom and impressive views through a raised full-width window. Accessible via a private companionway, this cabin is a secluded retreat, complete with a spacious bathroom featuring a separate shower, toilet, dual basins, and abundant storage and hanging space.
This layout also includes three sizable double cabins: two on the port side and one on the starboard side. Each cabin is bright with natural light and includes an ensuite with separate showers and toilets. The total cabin space in the Front Master version of the SY62 3-Deck spans 63 square meters. In the Front Exit version, there are 56 square meters of cabin space, with two cabins in each hull, while the owner’s cabin maintains its private entrance.
Owners have the flexibility to personalize the interior styling, choosing from various finishes. The first SY62 3-Deck Open showcases a modern blend of cream leather headlining, grey upholstery, and natural wood cabinetry and floors. Bathrooms feature contemporary porcelain and stainless-steel fittings, while the galley is equipped with high-end appliances for a sophisticated and reliable look.
On a yacht of this scale, storage is a significant asset, and the SY62 3-Deck delivers ample options. Lockers, racks, and shelves are found throughout, with the largest storage area being the 11 square meter bins at the bow, perfect for storing items like paddleboards, SeaBobs, kites, or spare parts. Additionally, the cockpit offers under-seat storage and deep lockers in the deck sole, ensuring space for all essentials.
