Fifteen years after the Gallardo flew the colors, the Italian flag returns to a Lamborghini – this time stitched into a 920 CV HPEV that treats personalization like an art form

The Quail, 8 a.m., and a flag on the bonnet
Somewhere on the manicured lawn of The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in the gauzy gold of a Monterey Car Week morning, the noise of the world’s most expensive metal collides with the smell of fresh espresso. And there, on the Lamborghini stage, flanked by the world premiere of the Revuelto SV – a V12 that will dominate every headline it touches – sits a quieter kind of statement. A Temerario. But not UN Temerario.
Look closer. The upper body is white as a pressed shirt. The lower half is a deep, shifting blue. There is a stripe of green, white and red on the bonnet, and suddenly the whole car snaps into focus: il Tricolore is back.
This is the Lamborghini Temerario Tricolore, a bespoke configuration unveiled at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, and the first interpretation to carry the Tricolore name since the 2011 Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore. Fifteen years on, the colors of the Italian flag have returned to Lamborghini’s latest High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) – heritage and future riding in the same two-tone body shell.
A flag with a history
Let’s rewind. The Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore was created in 2011 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Italian unification, celebrating national identity through a dedicated stripe in the colors of the flag. It was Lamborghini’s way of doubling down as a global ambassador for Made in Italy excellence.
The Temerario Tricolore carries that same spirit into the electrified era. Where the Gallardo wore its patriotism as a stripe, the Temerario wears it as architecture: a bold two-tone exterior composition where Blu Marinus Shiny defines the lower section of the body and Bianco Monocerus sweeps across the upper surfaces, including the upper sections of the doors and fenders.
The details do the heavy lifting. Glossy Nero Noctis touches the exterior mirrors, wheels, engine cover, and rear and upper section, carving out a precise contrast between the two main colors and sharpening the car’s sculptural proportions. Rosso brake calipers add a sporting jab of red. And on the bonnet, a dedicated green, white and red graphic does exactly what it says on the tin: it references the Italian flag, proudly and unapologetically.
Blu Marinus Shiny deserves a paragraph of its own. It’s a deep blue finish that reveals lighter reflections under direct light – the kind of paint that changes mood with the angle of the sun. Paired with Bianco Monocerus, it traces the Temerario’s distinctive lines, from the rising profile that climbs out of the front wheel arches, across the doors, and into those powerful rear shoulders.
The two-tone treatment also throws Lamborghini Centro Stile’s new design language into relief: the sharp front surfaces, the hexagonal daytime running lights, the exposed engine, and the functional aerodynamic elements integrated into the body rather than bolted on as afterthoughts.
Inside, the flag becomes embroidery.
The cockpit follows the same creative brief, translating the Tricolore theme into a sophisticated, intensely personal environment. Nero Ade upholstery is set off by Rosso Alala contrast stitching, while the recurring hexagonal motif – Lamborghini’s unmistakable stylistic signature – links cabin to exterior like a repeated chord.
Then come the bespoke touches that make this configuration sing. A bespoke silhouette of the car is integrated into the rear cabin trim. Tricolore lettering is embroidered on the door panels. Every material, graphic element and color has been chosen as part of a single creative composition – proof, if any were needed, that the Ad Personam program can transform a cabin into an authentic expression of the owner’s personality without dulling a single decibel of the Temerario’s sporting character.

The powertrain that needs no flag to fly
Strip away the paint and the party trick remains intact. The Temerario Tricolore retains the standard Temerario’s advanced hybrid architecture: a newly developed 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 combined with tre motori elettrici for a total output of 920 CV.
The combustion engine revs to 10,000 rpm – a benchmark no production super sports car had touched before – delivering immediate response and an unmistakable sound character across the entire rev range. The numbers that follow are the sort that end arguments: 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, top speed north of 340 km/h.
This is not a decorative exercise. The Tricolore is a complete design project in which color, material and detail have been developed as a cohesive whole – the Ad Personam creative process in full flower, where precision, craftsmanship and innovation converge to turn advanced engineering into a distinctive, emotional expression of Italian excellence.
A 20-year-old program, still finding new tricks
The Temerario Tricolore arrives on the heels of the two bespoke Temerario Ad Personam configurations presented at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, further expanding the model’s personalization journey as Lamborghini celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Ad Personam program.
“Temerario Tricolore is a celebration of the values that define Lamborghini: visionary design, technological innovation, uncompromising performance and the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. Fifteen years after the Gallardo Tricolore, this new interpretation by our Centro Stile brings Italian national colors into the new era of the super sports car. At the same time, it demonstrates how Ad Personam enables each customer to create a truly unique Lamborghini, transforming their personal vision into a bespoke expression of individuality.”
-Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO, Automobili Lamborghini
Designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile and finalized in collaboration with Ad Personam, the Tricolore demonstrates that personalization can extend beyond picking colors and materials to become an integral part of the creative process itself.
