On February 25, 2025, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosted a cocktail reception and private dinners for the nominees of the 97° Oscar® at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The evening featured the annual nominee class photo, capturing the collective spirit of this year’s honorees.
Academy President Janet Yang welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of community and the nominees’ shared journey. She also reminded everyone to keep their acceptance speeches to 45 seconds, highlighting the Academy’s commitment to honoring exceptional film performances.
The event brought together over 200 nominees from various categories, including Best Actress and Best Actor favorites, such as Cynthia Erivo, Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, Timothée Chalamet, and Adrien Brody. The gathering allowed these artists to mingle and celebrate their achievements before the upcoming awards ceremony.
Notably, the traditional Oscars luncheon was canceled this year due to Southern California wildfires, making this dinner a vital gathering for the nominees.
The 97th Oscars® will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC, streamed live on Hulu, and broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide.
