WEINSANTO brings its theatrical, couture-inflected register to Monday’s runway. Designer Victor Weinsanto spent two years working at Jean Paul Gaultier before launching his eponymous house in Paris in 2020, building a design language that sits deliberately between couture technique and wearable ready-to-wear — theatrical silhouettes and construction detail built to reward close inspection rather than a quick glance down the runway.

Since its founding, Weinsanto has become one of the names most closely associated with the more avant-garde, editor-watched corner of the Paris independent scene, alongside houses like Maitrepierre and Pressiat. Dover Street Market Paris has stocked the label since its earliest seasons, offering it one of the clearest retail validations available to an emerging French house, and its price point — roughly €700 to €2,500 — places it firmly in couture-adjacent territory rather than accessible ready-to-wear. The house’s identity draws on Gaultier’s own tradition of provocation and spectacle, filtered through Weinsanto’s own instinct for structured, sculptural garment-making that treats each collection as a small production rather than a purely commercial exercise.

For S/S 2027, the brand continues that trajectory on the official runway, extending a five-year run in which the designer has moved from Gaultier’s atelier to his own name on the Paris schedule — one of the clearest examples of the city’s independent houses translating couture training into a genuinely distinctive ready-to-wear voice.
