SCHIAPARELLI

SCHIAPARELLI presents on the official Paris calendar as one of the most surreal and historically singular houses in fashion. Founded by Elsa Schiaparelli in 1927, the house was, alongside Coco Chanel, one of the defining rivalries of interwar Parisian fashion, distinguished by Schiaparelli’s deep collaborations with Surrealist artists including Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau — the Lobster Dress, the Shoe Hat, and the vivid “shocking pink” the house remains associated with to this day were all born from that artistic partnership, positioning fashion explicitly as a form of Surrealist art object. 

After decades of dormancy, the house was revived under Diego Della Valle’s ownership and has, since 2019, been led by creative director Daniel Roseberry, an American designer whose tenure has been widely credited with translating Schiaparelli’s original surrealist DNA — anatomical jewelry, trompe-l’oeil embellishment, exaggerated gold body-part accessories — into some of the most talked-about couture and ready-to-wear of the past several years, dressing figures including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Cardi B for major red-carpet and stage moments. 

For S/S 2027, SCHIAPARELLI presents on the official calendar continuing Roseberry’s now seven-year project of keeping Elsa Schiaparelli’s original spirit of theatrical, art-driven provocation alive for a contemporary audience that has embraced maximalist spectacle once again.
