LITKOVSKA presents its bold, tradition-rooted Ukrainian tailoring on Tuesday’s runway. Designer Lilia Litkovska comes from four generations of tailors and holds a master’s degree from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, founding her eponymous house in Kyiv in 2009 with an explicit mission to preserve and modernize her family’s craft. Litkovska has built her house around sleek yet quirky silhouettes and edgy, fluid tailoring, deconstructing conventional ideas of modernity while maintaining rigorous, ethically sourced construction. 

The brand’s ARTISANAL line embodies that mission most directly: fabric scraps, vintage garments, and leftovers from past collections are hand-torn and sent to rural Ukraine, where they are rewoven on hundred-year-old authentic looms into entirely new fabric, each piece requiring thirty to fifty hours of handwork documented in the garment’s own “passport.”

Every Litkovska show is conceived as a full performance combining fashion, sound, movement, architecture, and cinematography, and the label — now sold through more than sixty retailers across twenty countries, including Dover Street Market — has continued operating and showing in Paris throughout Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine, with Litkovska named among Forbes’ 50 Women Leaders of Wartime Ukraine. In 2020 she also founded SCHOOLL, an art and craft school supporting emerging Ukrainian designers. 

For S/S 2027, LITKOVSKA presents on the official Paris calendar continuing to prove, season after season, that Ukrainian craft and design ambition can hold the runway under any circumstance.
