Freya Dalsjø is a Copenhagen-based contemporary luxury fashion brand founded in 2012 by designer Freya Dalsjø. She studied at the prestigious fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp before returning to Copenhagen in 2011 to launch her own ready-to-wear line. Her debut collection opened Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2012 to critical acclaim, leading her to show her AW13 collection at London Fashion Week. That same year, she won the Søvtråden award, which annually recognizes the most promising talents in the Danish fashion industry.

The brand is now designed by Freya Dalsjø alongside Karis Dalsjø and Mikkel Schou. It specializes in developing intricate craftsmanship rooted in a respectful practice, working solely with natural materials of the highest quality — wool, cashmere, silk, leather, and silver. “Design for me is about exploring and challenging the boundaries of material, the body, and aesthetic,” Dalsjø explains. “As a designer I aim to challenge these physical constraints and social constructs.”

After presenting biannually at Copenhagen Fashion Week for several years, Dalsjø took a six-year hiatus from the pista. She returned for SS26 with a collection that meditated on impermanence and the human need for meaning in a disposable world. The collection was grounded in a reverence for natural materials and craftsmanship, with a muted palette of white, ivory, eggshell, granite, charcoal, and deep earth tones honouring the raw beauty of each material.

For AW26, Dalsjø continued her slow-fashion approach, carrying over a large portion of the spring offering into fall. “I think for me it’s about developing shapes that go through the whole year, that go through the change of seasons,” she told Vogue. Double-face wool coats, hand-woven silk threads, and feathered accents defined the collection. Dalsjø’s garments are currently sold in Denmark, the Middle East, and North America. For SS27, she continues to build on her philosophy of slow, material-driven design.
