Surkana Women’s SS25 Fashion Show
A Morocco’s Journey

Surkana’s SS25 collection takes inspiration from the artistic journeys of Henri Matisse and Jacques Majorelle to Morocco. It blends subtle artistic references with the vibrant spirit of North African nature. This vision of beauty and magic was showcased at a stunning fashion show on June 27th in Barcelona. The venue, the historic Llotja de Mar, a 14th-century masterpiece of Catalan Gothic architecture, perfectly complemented the collection’s blend of history and modern design. The all-night event was a testament to this fusion of past and present.
Surkana’s SS25 collection is a celebration of nature, reinterpreted through the eyes of artists like Matisse and Majorelle. It’s a captivating blend of the past and the future, with idyllic Moroccan gardens inspiring the prints and colors. The collection is a canvas for a woman’s journey, a fusion of artistic heritage and modern prêt-à-porter. Sustainable, natural fabrics embrace the female form, while fluid lines and lightness create a perfect summer look. The palette is cheerful and vibrant, echoing the brand’s signature style – rich in detail and bursting with joie de vivre.
Surkana’s SS25 collection offers a vibrant journey through Morocco, with seven distinct lines. Spring features “Tanja,” “Acanto,” and “Kashba,” while summer brings “Oriental,” “Ryad,” “Majorelle,” and the more natural “Natural” collection. Each line captures the essence of the Medina, a bustling marketplace alive with exotic spices, Mediterranean influences, lush gardens, and hints of Art Deco style.
The result is a versatile and joyful wardrobe. Dresses explore clean lines softened by pops of color, while jumpsuits champion a renewed femininity. Two-piece sets offer variety, featuring color blocking, stripes, or florals. Waistcoats add a touch of structure, while blouses complement flowing shirts and skirts. Practical Bermuda shorts and sleeveless shirtdresses round out the collection.
The color palette reflects the warmth of Morocco, with earthy tones like desert sand contrasting with vibrant greens of the vegetation and fiery orange hues of the sky. Prints inspired by Moroccan architecture add a touch of exoticism, creating a collection that feels both familiar and far away.
And for garments that talk about travel, there could only be a special partner like MSC Cruises which, on the occasion of the fashion show, offered 4 cruises for the guests at the event.
