KIMHĒKIM
KIMHĒKIM returns to its home turf on the official Paris calendar with designer Kiminte Kimhekim, who built his house almost entirely on this schedule after training at Studio Bercot and working in Balenciaga’s studio and atelier. Raised between memory and meticulous craft, Kimhekim learned to sew and braid by hand from his grandmother long before fashion became a career; he founded his namesake house in Paris in 2016 and won the Samsung Fashion Design Fund in 2020, building a reputation as one of the most consistent presences on the Paris presentation circuit.
The brand’s visual language centers on a recurring cast of motifs — bows, pearls, hearts, oversized collars, and volume-driven, sculptural silhouettes — that Kimhekim reshuffles each season rather than discarding, treating them the way a musician treats a signature chord progression. Recent Paris collections have explored dreamlike, pajama-inflected softness and, for the house’s ninth-birthday show, a disco-meets-K-pop celebration soundtracked by both Donna Summer and BTS’s Jungkook, alongside a debut sneaker collaboration with Asics. The house has become known for hanbok-informed structure folded into otherwise Western, couture-adjacent silhouettes, a signature that recently carried the designer home for a symbolic Seoul debut at Lotte World Mall.
For S/S 2027, the brand presents back on its founding stage, continuing to reshuffle its now-signature vocabulary of bows, pearls, and sculptural volume for a Paris audience that has followed the house from its earliest, smallest seasons.
