For Spring/Summer 2027, the New York designer builds couture-inspired eveningwear from garments that have already lived a life — his third collection with ShopGoodwill.com

Evan Hirsch went looking for the past on purpose.
For Spring/Summer 2027, the New York designer built a collection out of pre-loved garments, sourced with the team at ShopGoodwill.com, and reworked them into couture-inspired eveningwear for the runway at New York Fashion Week. He calls it “New Journeys Through Old Memories,” and the title doubles as a fair description of the method: take materials and references from another era, keep what carries meaning, and give the rest an entirely new life.
For Hirsch, the collection is rooted in the tension between memory and reinvention — familiar materials and references from another era, given an entirely new life.
The collection is Hirsch’s third with ShopGoodwill.com, continuing a partnership that explores the intersection of fashion, resale, creativity and social impact. Rather than treat secondhand materials as a limitation, Hirsch approaches each garment as a starting point. Elements of its history stay intact. Its role does not.
“This Spring/Summer 2027 collection is very meaningful to me,” Hirsch said. “I decided to call it New Journeys Through Old Memories because not only am I creating looks from pre-loved garments, but I also wanted to invoke a sense of vintage nostalgia calling back to silhouettes of the past. This collection relies heavily on different textures, such as lace, beading, and metallic fabrics. Through this collaborative process and the incredible sourcing from the ShopGoodwill.com team, I’ve been able to bring my vision to life in the most sustainable way.”
On the runway, that approach shows up as vintage-inspired silhouettes layered with intricate embellishment — lace, beading, metallic textures and unexpected fabric combinations that reward a closer look. The pre-loved garments become the foundation for pieces that read as familiar and new at once, reflecting Hirsch’s interest in the stories clothing collects as it passes from one owner, one era, one occasion to the next.
“Through this partnership, fashion becomes a powerful platform for storytelling, sustainability, and social impact,” said George Burt, chief operating officer of ShopGoodwill.com. “We’re excited to continue working with Evan and to engage Goodwill NYNJ in bringing this experience to life locally. Together, we’re demonstrating how donated goods can inspire creativity while helping fund programs that empower individuals and strengthen communities.”
The show carries Hirsch and ShopGoodwill.com’s shared premise to New York Fashion Week: that the future of पहनावा does not always require something new. With “New Journeys Through Old Memories,” Hirsch keeps pushing the boundaries of what secondhand fashion can become, building a collection rooted in the past while looking firmly toward the future.
