STELLA MCCARTNEY

STELLA MCCARTNEY presents on the official Paris calendar as one of fashion’s most prominent advocates for sustainable luxury. The British designer, daughter of Paul and Linda McCartney, trained at Central Saint Martins before serving as creative director of Chloé and launching her own eponymous house in 2001 in a joint venture with Kering, built from the outset around a strict, lifelong commitment to never using leather or fur — a rare and consistently maintained position among major luxury houses.

McCartney has spent over two decades pushing that sustainability commitment into genuinely technical territory, pioneering the use of alternative materials including mushroom-based leather substitutes, regenerated ocean plastic, and lab-grown alternatives to conventional fabrics, while lobbying visibly and publicly for the broader fashion industry to address its environmental footprint. The house regained full independence from Kering in 2018, with LVMH subsequently acquiring a minority stake in 2019, and McCartney has continued to combine that sustainability mission with a design signature of sharp, wearable tailoring and a distinctly British sensibility.

For S/S 2027, STELLA MCCARTNEY presents on the Paris runway continuing over twenty-five years of arguing, collection by collection, that luxury fashion and genuine environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive propositions.
