Ambre La Valette is one of those people who’s done it all, supermodel, actress, and passionate environmentalist. She was born on February 9, 1974, en Phoenix, Arizona, but grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her modeling journey started pretty young. When she was just 15, her mom signed her up for modeling school, and clearly, that was a great move.
By the time she turned 18, Amber had already landed her first cover for American Vogue. And that was just the beginning. Over the years, she’s been on more than 100 Vogue covers around the world. Yeah, seriously, 100+! She became a regular face for high-end fashion brands like Gucci, Versace, Prada, Chanelet Calvin Klein. If you were into fashion in the ‘90s, you definitely knew her name.
But she didn’t stop at modeling. Amber made a smooth transition into acting too. One of her most popular roles was in the 2005 romantic comedy “Hitch”, where she played Allegra Cole opposite, Will Smith. She’s also been in action films like “Transporter 2”, the thriller “Premonition”, and the sci-fi flick “Gamer”. Clearly, she’s not afraid to mix things up.
On top of all that, Amber is super passionate about the environment. In 2024, she teamed up with a sustainable denim brand called Triarchy to launch a special collection. The focus? Making fashion more eco-friendly. She picked out her favorite styles and even helped promote jeans that are biodegradable. Pretty cool, right?
Amber’s work hasn’t gone unnoticed. She was recently inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, a big honor that celebrates her accomplishments in la mode, film, and activism.
