Mithridate
Mithridate is a London-based label founded in 2018 by Taiwanese designer Demon Zhang, known for its maximalist, ornate aesthetic that fuses Eastern ornamental traditions with Western couture technique. The brand takes its name from Mithridates VI, the ancient king famed for his immunity to poison, and its collections are characterised by lavish embroidery, crystal embellishment, dramatic silhouettes and an almost theatrical opulence; Mithridate has dressed celebrities including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Cardi B, and its shows blend runway with performance and installation. The label has presented at London Fashion Week since its debut, building a following for its high-octane glamour and craft-intensive pieces. At LFW September 2026, Mithridate presents its Spring/Summer 2027 collection across menswear and womenswear at 15:00 on Thursday, by invitation only. The show continues Zhang’s maximalist vision, and Mithridate’s ornate, crystal-laden garments remain among the most dramatic on the London calendar.
