Max Mara

Max Mara, founded in 1951 by Achille Maramotti in Reggio Emilia, is one of Italy’s most successful ready-to-wear houses and a pillar of the CNMI calendar. The group — Max Mara Fashion Group — encompasses Max Mara, Sportmax, Max & Co., Marina Rinaldi, Pennyblack, Weekend Max Mara and iBlues. The house is celebrated for impeccable tailoring, in particular the camel coat, an icon renewed each season. Creative direction has long been exercised by the group’s internal studio team under the Maramotti family (chairman Luigi Maramotti; creative director Ian Griffiths since the late 1980s).

Max Mara shows at the top of the Milan morning schedule, opening major days of fashion week with collections that define quiet, intelligent power-dressing. Its SS27 presentation at Via Piranesi continues the maison’s exploration of modern femininity, art references (the brand has a storied art-patronage tradition, including the Collezione Maramotti in Reggio Emilia) and its celebrated coat heritage.
