Iamisigo is a Lagos-based Nigerian fashion label founded by Bubu Ogisi, who serves as its creative director and fiber artist. The brand is a slow design house preserving Africa’s intangible cultural heritage through handmade, contemporary wearable art. Each piece is crafted using ancestral techniques, upcycled materials, and circular design principles — a form of resistance, storytelling, and preservation.

Ogisi describes Iamisigo as existing in the in-between — a liminal space between what was, what is, and what’s yet to come. The brand’s collections are introspective and raw, calling wearers to re-tune the mind, body, and soul; to remember not just through form, but through feeling. The brand pioneers innovation by blending heritage textiles with traditional craft techniques drawn from across Africa.

Iamisigo was named the winner of the Zalando Visionary Award 2025, beating finalists FEBEN and Rave Review. “Personally, this recognition affirms that work grounded in integrity, intuition, and cultural memory holds value far beyond trend cycles,” Ogisi told Copenhagen Fashion Week. “Professionally, it opens up new rooms, new worlds, and new systems — spaces where we’re not just visible, but truly heard.”

The brand presented its SS26 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week on August 6, 2025, and returns for SS27 in show format. Iamisigo’s presence at CPHFW represents the growing internationalization of the schedule and the platform’s commitment to spotlighting designers from beyond the Nordic region who bring fresh perspectives and alternative models of thinking, making, and being.
