CELINE presents on the official calendar as one of the LVMH group’s most closely watched luxury houses. Founded by Céline Vipiana in 1945, originally as a children’s shoemaker before expanding into full ready-to-wear, the house built its identity over subsequent decades around understated, luxuriously minimal Parisian style, a reputation significantly deepened during Phoebe Philo’s influential 2008–2018 tenure, which built a devoted following around quietly confident, architecturally clean tailoring that became shorthand for a certain kind of intellectual, anti-trend luxury. 

Since 2018, the house — restyled without the accent as simply Celine — has been under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane, whose tenure represented a dramatic aesthetic pivot toward the rock-and-roll, skinny-silhouette sensibility he had earlier developed at Dior Homme and Saint Laurent. Slimane’s Celine has emphasized rigorous control over the brand’s visual identity, image-making, and retail environment, extending well beyond clothing into music production and photography, in a manner that has made the house one of the most tightly authored and singularly directed in the LVMH portfolio. 

For S/S 2027, CELINE presents on the official Paris calendar continuing Slimane’s now near-decade-long reworking of a house whose identity has shifted dramatically across the twenty-first century — from Philo’s quiet minimalism to a considerably louder, more rock-inflected register.
