Industry leaders, cruise line executives, and representatives from over 600 exhibiting companies gathered to explore the future trajectory of cruising, contributing to one of the most highly attended editions in the event’s history.

Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 presented a comprehensive conference program under the theme “Milestones,” encouraging industry reflection on its historical progression while focusing on future advancements. The program included 87 sessions featuring 290 expert speakers who examined emerging trends and addressed key opportunities and challenges pertinent to the next phase of cruise travel. Attendees participated in discussions covering diverse topics, ranging from evolving guest expectations to technological innovations and sustainability initiatives.
The “State of the Global Cruise Industry” keynote session, sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and held on Tuesday, April 8, drew over 2,500 delegates. Chaired by Anne Kalosh, Editor at Seatrade Cruise News, the session featured prominent industry leaders sharing insights on the current landscape and future projections. Panelists included Bud Darr, President & CEO, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA); Jason Liberty, President & CEO, Royal Caribbean Group; Harry Sommer, President & CEO, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, Cruise Division of MSC Group; and Josh Weinstein, President, CEO & Chief Climate Officer, Carnival Corporation & plc.

The “Tomorrow’s Talent Today” initiative, conducted on April 7, was specifically designed for cruise HR, training, and recruitment professionals, as well as educators and students from related academic institutions. The program aimed to cultivate the next generation of industry talent, offering various opportunities for learning, career exploration, and networking with established professionals.
Complementing this, the updated 20 Under 40 Programme recognized exceptional young professionals within the global cruise industry. This initiative acknowledges individuals under the age of 40 who have demonstrated significant impact, leadership, and dedication in their respective fields, based on peer or self-nominations. Exhibition Showcase
The Exhibition Hall featured over 600 exhibitors from across the cruise industry supply chain, presenting innovative products, services, and technologies. Underscoring the event’s value proposition, numerous global brands, including Cachet, De Wave, DNV, DOF Robotics, Fincantieri, Port of Dover, Global Ports Holding, LG Electronics, Ports of Spain, and The Bahamas, have already confirmed their participation for 2026.
Entertainment Showcase
Introduced this year, the Entertainment Showcase offered a platform for performers to demonstrate their talent directly to key cruise line executives responsible for entertainment programming. In partnership with talent agencies Don Casino, 2FunnyEntertainment, and DCA Productions, a diverse range of acts performed, providing insight into high-caliber onboard entertainment options.
The Retail Days – In partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report
Returning for its second iteration on April 8-9, The Retail Days, held in partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report, successfully highlighted the strategic importance of onboard retail in enhancing guest experiences. The program featured sessions focused on appealing to next-generation consumers, adopting consumer-centric retail approaches, leveraging technology, and exploring key retail categories. This initiative underscored the growing significance of retail as a revenue driver for cruise lines and its integral role in the industry’s ongoing evolution.
Facilitating Industry Networking
Seatrade Cruise Global provided an extensive program of networking opportunities, ranging from structured meetings facilitated through the event app’s matchmaking lounge to informal interactions at events like the “Cruisin’ Like it’s 1985” welcome reception.
