Myrne Teams Up With Shallou For Hypnotic New Single “Falling Back”

Today, Singaporean artist-producer MYRNE returns with the blissful new track “Falling Back,” a collaboration with Los Angeles-based multi-talent Shallou. Escuche AQUÍ vía Astralwerks.

Boasting dreamy, ethereal tones and delicately disruptive flourishes of pulsing percussion, “Falling Back” is simultaneously inviting and shrouded in atmospheric mystery.

The song is about reconciling the desire to find a real connection yet faltering along the way. That message is exquisitely distilled on the soaring chorus: “Stop now, we could get some rest,” angelic vocals ring out over feathery synths and hypnotizing beats, “before we break down, wanted more for less.”

MYRNE’s trademark multi-layer, intricate arrangements morph and meld into something soothing and substantial.

The last minute of “Falling Back” includes a breakdown that MYRNE is particularly proud of. "That little bridge at the end sounded really emotional to me for some reason,” the rising hitmaker shares. “I felt a big ‘standing on the edge of the world’ vibe while recording it.”

It’s a sensation that legions of fans throughout the world will undoubtedly share as they process the euphoric marriage of fluttery beats and distorted vocals.

“I wanted to pair my airy vocals that could hold its own in different environments with the high energy and emotional track that MYRNE created,” says Shallou on the collaboration. “The unique drop is floaty and the chorus is about the rat race I feel like we’ve all been in since covid slowed down.”

“Falling Back” follows the release of "Secretos," a propulsive anthem bursting with optimism and el Joy Alexis-assisted "Deseo," which was written during the filming of Majulah Weekender (a web series that finds established Singaporean musicians paired with emerging voices).

Their rapport was palpable from the get-go, with Alexis effortlessly sliding into MYRNE’s rich dancefloor ecstasy, bringing a layer of introspection that pierces the euphoria.

In May, MYRNE released his Astralwerks debut EP, Circles, and the reception has been rapturous. With that project under his belt, the producer has an established fanbase eager for more music. “Falling Back” will quell that need, at least for the time being, as MYRNE continues to prove that he’s one of dance music’s most exciting new talents.
