Simkhai was founded in 2010 by designer Jonathan Simkhai in New York City after studying at Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. The studio takes inspiration from architects and sculptors alike, blending progressive construction techniques with intimate hand-detailing to create special garments and lifestyle design. An early inductee to the CFDA Incubator program, Simkhai quickly developed an eye for craft and quality.

The brand won the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2015, cementing its reputation within the American fashion establishment. Simkhai has been a regular NYFW presenter since its debut, showcasing collections that balance a strong, confident urban aesthetic with effortless, relaxed ease — a juxtaposition informed by the designer’s bicoastal life between New York and Los Angeles, where the studio is now based. The brand is sold globally and has presented its Spring/Summer 2026 runway collection to critical acclaim. Simkhai is a CFDA member.
